Holeg Spies is a French composer and music producer known for his work in film scores, electronic music, and in multiple musical collaborations. [1] His music typically draws on diverse musical elements, often blending electronic, folk, Indigenous music and orchestral elements to create unique and atmospheric soundscapes. [2] Spies has also composed scores for movies, television, and multimedia projects. [3]

In the early 90s Holeg Spies was one of the first wave of DJs in the European underground techno scene. [4] He also headlined the first techno tour of India in 1995 [5] and then multiple tours of Japan, from 1997 onward. [6] [7]

As a film composer, he has collaborated on multiple scores [8] with Patrick Savage (composer), including the 2009 cult horror, The Human Centipede (First Sequence), and the award-winning, Abruptio. Together they have often been credited as "Savage & Spies" [9]

Selected Ambient Works 85–92 is the debut album by the British electronic music producer Aphex Twin. It was released on 9 November 1992 through Apollo Records, a subsidiary of the Belgian label R&S Records. The album consists of ambient techno tracks that were recorded on cassette as early as 1985, when James was 13-14 years old. On release it received widespread acclaim and entered the Dance Albums Chart at No. 6 on 26 December 1992.

"Land of Dreaming" is a song recorded by German band Masterboy. It was the third single from their album, Generation of Love. The song was released in January 1996 and features female vocals performed by Trixi Delgado. Several remixes were produced for the various formats, two of them were mixed by Italian Eurodance act Cappella. The song was a big success in Latín American countries Like Chile and México, but in Europe was unable to duplicate the same performances than Masterboy's previous hit singles. It reached its highest peak position in Germany where it was number 12 and charted for 17 weeks. It was also a top-20 hit in Switzerland, Finland and the Netherlands. In France, the song was ranked for ten weeks in the French top-50 Singles Chart and reached number 22. On the Eurochart Hot 100, "Land of Dreaming" peaked at number 42. In 2006, it was re-recorded in a remixed version with Freedom Williams and Linda Rocco in featuring and this version is included on Masterboy's 2006 studio album, US-Album.

Dub techno is a subgenre of electronic music that originated in the early 1990s, blending the repetitive, minimal structures of techno with the echo-laden, spacey production techniques of dub music. It is notable for its deep, atmospheric soundscapes, layers of elaborate basslines, slowly developing musical phrases featuring heavy delay and reverb effects. Vocals are either absent, or inspired by dub and ambient music.

Patrick Savage is an Australian-born composer and violinist best known for his collaboration with French composer, Holeg Spies, on the score for The Human Centipede .
