Holger Lissner (born 15 July 1938 [1] in Rynkeby), is a Danish priest and hymn writer. [2]
Lissner was a teacher at Løgumkloster Højskole from 1971-1979 and a priest in Sønder Bjert from 1980–2003, before retiring in 2003.
He worked a lot with hymns, both as a hymn writer, and as editor of collections of new hymns and choral works. He also wrote the liturgies for church services, including "Spillemandsmessen", a service with music for Danish folk musicians.
In Denmark, Lissner is known for writing a Christian version of the Lucia song in 1982. [3]
In Norway, he is known for the advent hymn "Nå tenner vi vår adventskrans", which is in the 1985 edition of The Norsk Salmebok .

"Udsigter fra Ulriken" is the town song of Bergen, Norway. It is also known as "Bergenssangen", "Bergensiana", "Jeg tok min nystemte" and among the public "Nystemten". The lyrics were written in 1790 by the priest, politician and poet Johan Nordahl Brun when he worked as vicar at Bergen Cathedral. The melody is taken from an old French minuet. Norwegian composer Johan Halvorsen wrote orchestral variations on the melody under the name "Bergensiana". A notable performance was by Sissel Kyrkjebø in 1986, when she was 16 years old. It was her big breakthrough. She performed the song during the intermission of the Eurovision Song Contest 1986, which took place in Grieg Hall in Bergen.

MGP Junior is a Danish song contest for children aged 8 to 15. It originated in 2000 as a spin-off of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, before coming the national selection for the now-extinct MGP Nordic in 2002 and from 2006 to 2009. From 2003 to 2005, MGP Junior was Denmark's national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, a pan-European version of the format.
De Gyldne Laurbær is a Danish literature award, which was established in 1949. The award is handed by The Committee De Gyldne Laurbær, formerly Boghandlerklubben. The prize is given annually in February or March. Originally the award was a laurel wreath, a golden pin with an inscription, some money and a book gift worth 2500 DKK. Today the award is a laurel wreathe, a diploma and a book gift worth 2500 DKK. The award is handed at a ceremony arranged by the publishing house which has published the winning book and by the Committee De Gyldne Laurbær. Early in January every year the committee sends out ballot to all the Danish bookshops, which then give their vote for a Danish book which was published the year before. An author can only win The Golden Laurel once-in-a-lifetime, so the bookshops can not vote for an author who has already won the prize once before. The winner is usually one of the bestsellers among the Danish books. On the day when it is decided who wins the Golden Laurel, the president of the Committee of The Golden Laurel informs the winner about the award, while journalists follow the event.

Thomas Skat Rørdam (1832–1909) was a Danish priest and theologian who was Bishop of the Diocese of Zealand from 1895 until his death. In the course of his ecclesiastical career, Rørdam served as a local priest in small parishes on Zealand, a parish priest at the Church of the Holy Ghost in Copenhagen, and as provost at Holmen Church before being instated as Bishop of Zealand.
