Anne Elizabeth "Holly" Woods (born August, 4 1953) is an American rock singer whose notable works include five albums in the rock band Toronto.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, Woods moved from San Francisco to Toronto in the mid-1970s, after fronting local bands Sass, and then Gambler. She initially performed in Toronto as Annie Woods and Shivers. She was introduced to Brian Allen in 1977 and, with the addition of Scott Kreyer, Nick Costello and Jimmy Fox (all native New Yorkers), plus Sheron Alton, the band Toronto was formed.
After a string of Top 40 hits and nearly 700,000 albums sold, Toronto disbanded in 1985. In 1986, Woods and Kreyer regrouped and recorded a new album which was never released. In 2007, "lost" masters were discovered and released as the eight-song album Live It Up! These songs were recorded in Atlanta, in 1986, with producer Sonny Limbo and bandmate Kreyer. [1]
The Boomtown Rats are an Irish rock band originally formed in Dublin in 1975. Between 1977 and 1985, they had a series of Irish and UK hits including "Like Clockwork", "Rat Trap", "I Don't Like Mondays" and "Banana Republic". The original line-up comprised five musicians from Dún Laoghaire in County Dublin; Gerry Cott, Simon Crowe (drums), Johnnie Fingers (keyboards), Bob Geldof (vocals) and Garry Roberts, plus Fingers' cousin Pete Briquette (bass). The Boomtown Rats broke up in 1986, but reformed in 2013, without Fingers or Cott. Garry Roberts died in 2022. The band's fame and notability have been overshadowed by the charity work of frontman Bob Geldof, a former journalist with the New Musical Express.

Both original members, Nick Costello and Jim Fox, left the band prior to this release, to be replaced by Gary LaLonde and Barry Connors respectively. LaLonde later joined Honeymoon Suite, while Connors went on to work with Toronto-based quartet Coney Hatch.
Girls' Night Out is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Toronto, released in 1983. The first U.S. release featured 3-D cover artwork and included red/blue 3-D glasses. More personnel changes on this album, with bassist Gary LaLonde passing the torch to Mike Gingrich. The CD release features one bonus track, "What About Love".

Assault & Flattery is Toronto's sixth and final album, released in 1984. The album features only two original band members, Anne "Holly" Woods and Scott Kreyer. Released as "Holly Woods & Toronto" which hints at Holly's increasing control and autonomy in the band at this time. The album was produced by Mike Flicker who produced five albums for Heart - the band Toronto are most often compared to. The CD release includes the bonus track "Where Are We Now?" - which was also performed by Holly herself, as a solo artist, on her CD Live It Up!.

Gary O'Connor, better known as Gary O', is a Canadian rock singer and songwriter. He is best known for the singles "Pay You Back with Interest" and "All the Young Heroes", which were popular in the early 1980s, and for receiving a Juno Award nomination for Most Promising Male Vocalist at the Juno Awards of 1982. He wrote the 38 Special song, "Back Where You Belong", which reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1983.
The CHUM Chart was a ranking of top 30 songs on Toronto, Ontario radio station CHUM AM, from 1957 to 1986, and was the longest-running Top 40 chart in the world produced by an individual radio station. On January 10, 1998, sister station CHUM-FM, which airs a hot adult contemporary format, revived the CHUM Chart name for a new countdown show.
