"Hollywood" is a song written and performed by American singer Estevan Plazola, which was originally released as a single on 31 July 2020, through Rancho Humilde, from his live album Infinit (2020). A re-recorded duet-cover version with fellow singer Peso Pluma was released on 20 June 2024, through Double P Records, as part of the former's fourth studio album Éxodo (2024). [1] [2]
"Hollywood" was released as a single by Plazola in 2020, through Rancho Humilde. [3] After he met Peso Pluma, they would re-record the song together. [4] "Hollywood" is a song where its lyrics revolve around being abused as a child and gaining eventual fame, while it is entirely an ode to Hollywood, Los Angeles. [5] He stated that it is about "our reality [and] how our lives went through this process — getting famous, getting money [and] getting what we've wanted since we were kids". [6]
The original version of "Hollywood", performed by Plazola, was released on July 31, 2020, through Rancho Humilde. [3] The re-recorded version of the song, which features Peso Pluma, was released on 20 June 2024, as the 10th track from his fourth studio album Éxodo [7] and later, on December 13, was released as the eleventh single overall. It was named the 11th best track from the album by Billboard , and also peaked at number 11 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart after it was released. Antonio Herrera Pérez, known professionally as Junior H, is a Mexican singer-songwriter. He is considered a major artist of the corridos tumbados movement, having popularized the genre with his earlier studio albums.
Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, known professionally as Peso Pluma, is a Mexican singer, musician and rapper. Learning to play the guitar during his early teens, he developed his craft by writing songs inspired by regional Mexican music. He achieved moderate success with his first two studio albums, Ah y Qué? (2020) and Efectos Secundarios (2021), which were published under the label El Cartel de Los Ángeles. He followed the albums with the singles "Por Las Noches" and "El Belicón", with the latter selling 480,000 units and being certified octuple-platinum in the Latin field by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He followed up his success with the EP Sembrando (2022) and the 5× Platinum Latin-certified controversial duet "Siempre Pendientes" with Luis R. Conriquez entering the Billboard Global 200.
