Home and Away Invitational League

The Home and Away Invitational League was an intercollegiate basketball and volleyball league in the Philippines formed in 2004. It was administered by a group led by Far Eastern University Athletic Heads Anton Montinola and Mark Molina.

Contents

The member teams were from different leagues around Metro Manila, namely the Ateneo de Manila University, the De La Salle University-Manila, the University of the East, the University of Santo Tomas, and the Far Eastern University from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines,the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, the Emilio Aguinaldo College, the Lyceum of the Philippines University, and the San Beda College from the NCAA.

The first batch of champions in each division were the University of the East for Men's Basketball, the Ateneo de Manila University for Women's Basketball, the Far Eastern University for Men's Volleyball and the Ateneo de Manila University for Women's Volleyball.

Each team was allowed to have only up to 3 players who played in the Philippine Basketball League or Shakey's V-League to keep the competition at a collegiate level.

San Beda College did not field teams in the women's division.

Member schools

In S.Y. 2006-2007, San Sebastian College - Recoletos, FEATI University and Adamson University joined the league.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association is an athletic association of ten private colleges and universities in Metro Manila, Philippines. The Homegrown Invitational Cup is a collegiate basketball tournament in the Philippines. It aims to determine which is the best "homegrown" collegiate team. Homegrown players are those who came directly from the juniors team of the said school. As a rule, each team must have at least 3 players from its roster who came from their junior ranks. The league gained TV coverage in 2006 through Studio 23. Fil-Oil and Flying V are the main sponsors of the tournament, hence this tournament is the first edition of what would eventually become the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.

The University Belt is the name of a de facto subdistrict in Manila, Philippines, referring to an area that has a significant concentration of major colleges and universities in the city. The Nike Summer League is a defunct pre-season collegiate basketball tournament in the Philippines sponsored by Nike. Its first season started in 2006. The tournament was last held in 2009. Games were telecast on TV by Studio 23.

The V-League 4th Season 2nd Conference is a tournament of the Shakey's V-League. The tournament began last October 14, 2007 at The Arena in San Juan. It ended last December 4, 2007 with the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses winning yet again against the first runner-up team from the 1st conference San Sebastian College - Recoletos Lady Stags in a dramatic 5-set game 3 finals match. These resulted in a back-to-back championship winning streak for the UST Tigresses as they are the defending champions from the 1st conference.

The V-League 5th Season 1st Conference is a tournament of the Shakey's V-League. The tournament began on March 30, 2008 and ended on May 30, 2008 at The Arena in the city of San Juan.

NCAA Season 87 is the 2011–12 season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the Philippines. The College Editors Guild of the Philippines is an alliance of collegiate student publications in the Philippines. It is the oldest and only-existing publications alliance in the Asia-Pacific. It was established on July 25, 1931. It is also a member and a founding organization of Kabataan Partylist.
