Homeland Heritage Park is a historical park in Bartow, Florida, Polk County, Florida. The site includes the 1878 Homeland School building, the 1887 Old Homeland Methodist Church, the former Methodist parsonage and church annex, an English family's log cabin and barn from 1888 and the 1880 Raulerson House. Homeland Heritage Park is located at 249 Church Avenue in Homeland, Florida.

Winter Haven is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. Neighboring Lakeland to its east, Winter Haven is located some fifty-one miles east of Tampa. The city's population was 49,219 at the 2020 census, making it the second most populated city in Polk County after Lakeland. It is a principal city of the Lakeland-Winter Haven, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area which is part of the Tampa Bay metropolitan area.
Chain of Lakes Park is a baseball field in Winter Haven, Florida. The stadium was built in 1966 and holds 7,000 people. It was the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox from 1966 to 1992, after which the Red Sox moved operations to City of Palms Park in Fort Myers.
Pittsburg is a town in southern Polk County, Florida, United States at Latitude 27.65361 and Longitude: -81.50278, named for the industrial heritage of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its elevation is 105 feet (32 m). It was mostly known for phosphate mining and a heavy industry rail spur, used mainly for transporting phosphates and cattle. It is approximately five miles (8 km) north of Avon Park, Florida.

He is considered to have been one of the city's most significant early architects. He also designed major public building projects in other states. He was a principal of the R.H. Hunt and Co. firm.

Avon Park Lakes (APL) is a residential community of about 2,500 people in northwest Highlands County, Florida. It is bounded by Polk County, Florida, on the north and Hardee County, Florida, on the west. On the northeast it is bounded by Lake Adelaide. The development, roughly "C" shaped, reaches to the south a block north of State Road 64 and nearly to the northeast of U.S. Route 27. It is bordered along the middle of the "C" by the city limits of Avon Park, Florida. Avon Park Lakes is unincorporated, but has a homeowners association, the Avon Park Lakes Association.
Sun Ray, Florida, is an unincorporated community in south Polk County, Florida. Its area is almost entirely land; the total water area is less than 0.01 square miles (0.026 km2) and most of that area is septic ponds on the south edge of Sun Ray. Approximately 90% of the community is on the east side of U.S. Highway 27. A railroad line runs diagonally south to north along the southwest boundary of Sun Ray. Sun Ray measures 0.77 miles (1.24 km) at its longest point and 0.22 miles (0.35 km) at its widest point.
Acton was a community in Polk County, Florida, United States. The town was situated two miles east of Lakeland which it preceded. It was a settlement of English people from Great Britain. It was established in 1884 named for Lord Acton. The community began dispersing to Lakeland in 1889 and disappeared after the great freeze of 1894. A historical marker in Interlachen Park commemorates its history.
Agricola is a former company town in Polk County, Florida that was built in 1907 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south-west of Bartow. It is at an elevation of 167 feet. The town was built to house employees of food processing business Swift and Company. The town operated a food processing plant and a phosphate mining operation up until the 1950s. Residents were exclusively factory workers and their families. The community was self contained and self reliable that contained streets, shops, schools and houses for the workers and their families. The town lasted up until the 1950s when the expansion of the phosphate industry ended the need for providing housing for employees. The town residents were offered a decision to purchase and move their homes. Whatever was not moved was destroyed. After the town was destroyed, the area operated as a phosphate mine.
Bereah was a town in Polk County, Florida. The town was situated 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north-west of Avon Park. Remains include the cemetery of the Corinth Primitive Baptist Church.

This facility has a mix of security levels, including minimum, medium, and close, and houses adult male prisoners. Polk first opened in 1978 and has a maximum capacity of 1208 prisoners.
Sumica, alternatively written as SUMICA, was a mill town in Polk County, Florida. The ghost town is commemorated by a historical marker off S.R. 60. There is also a Southwest Florida Water Management District preserve in the area named for the former logging settlement and mill town. Goods from a company store in the town could be purchased with company issued currency, including 25 cent and 5 cent scrip.
