Hong Sun Huot the Cambodian Minister of Health and Chairman of the National AIDS Authority, as well as a Senior Minister. [1] He belongs to Funcinpec and was elected to represent Kandal Province in the National Assembly of Cambodia in 2003. [2] Hong is a third generation Chinese-Cambodian, with ancestral roots hailing from Chaozhou. His Chinese Family is 杨 (Yang)。 [3]

He was also the First Prime Minister of Cambodia following the restoration of the monarchy, serving between 1993 and 1997, and subsequently as the President of the National Assembly between 1998 and 2006.

Ung Huot is a Cambodian former politician who served from 1997 to 1998 as Prime Minister of Cambodia, alongside Hun Sen. A member of the FUNCINPEC Party, he first served as Minister of Education, and later as Minister of Foreign Affairs before being appointed as Prime Minister.

He died on June 14, 2015, in Battambang, Cambodia, after treatments failed in Thailand. His funeral was held for seven days in Battambang.
