Dylan Riis Verrechia is a Barthélemois award-winning film director, auteur, screenwriter, and producer. He grew up in Saint Barthélemy, French West Indies, and was bedridden at age 8 from severe ankylosing spondylitis for ten years. A graduate with honors of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Verrechia's movies have screened at film festivals around the world.

<i>Menschenliebe</i> 2010 German film

Menschenliebe is an independent German feature film directed by Alexander Tuschinski. It had its premiere in Stuttgart, Germany in December 2010. It was screened and received numerous awards at international film-festivals, was additionally shown in various cinemas and screening events in Germany, and was officially released online in June 2013. It is the first instalment of Tuschinski's informal Trilogy of Rebellion - three very different feature films connected by the same thoughts, ideas and main characters, although each tells an independent story: Menschenliebe, Timeless and an upcoming project called Revolution!. Additionally, the film Break-Up refers to some events of Menschenliebe.

<i>Break-Up</i> 2014 German film

Break-Up is an independent German experimental feature film comedy directed by Alexander Tuschinski. It received awards at international film-festivals and had its German premiere at Berlin Independent Film Festival 2015. Although it is not part of it, it is connected to Tuschinski's informal Trilogy of Rebellion by one main character and some references in the storyline.

Keo Woolford was an American actor, producer, and director. He was born and raised in Hawaii. He directed the award-winning feature film The Haumāna and the East West Players stage play Three Year Swim Club. He starred in his self-written one-man show, I Land, and as the King of Siam in Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I at the London Palladium. He was a member of the Hawaii boyband Brownskin and the Hobo House on the Hill recording team responsible for the Grammy-nominated Island Warriors album. He was a recipient of the Na Hoku Hanohano Award for The Haumāna Soundtrack. His film and TV work included Godzilla, Act of Valor, The Haumāna, and Sergeant Detective Chang on Hawaii Five-0. He died on November 28, 2016, at Pali Momi Medical Center after suffering a stroke three days earlier.

Alexander Tuschinski is a German film director, film producer, writer, actor and musician. Internationally, he is best known for his feature films which have won awards at various film festivals. His documentary "Caligari in the Desert" was a submission to the 91st Academy Awards.. Additionally, he is known for his academic writing on the early works of Tinto Brass. Notably, his research into, and interest in, Brass's work on Caligula was examined in his feature documentary Mission: Caligula. At the documentary's premiere, Penthouse announced plans to work with Tuschinski on a new cut of Caligula that aims to restore and finish Brass's original version of the film. Though 85 minutes of his original workprint will be used, it remains unclear if Brass himself will be involved in finishing the film's edit.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2016 Cannes Film Festival</span>

The 69th Cannes Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 May 2016. Australian director George Miller was the President of the Jury for the main competition. French actor Laurent Lafitte was the host for the opening and closing ceremonies. On 15 March it was announced that Japanese director Naomi Kawase would serve as the Cinéfondation and Short Film Jury president. American director Woody Allen's film Café Society opened the festival.

The 2018 Sundance Film Festival took place from January 18 to January 28, 2018. The first lineup of competition films was announced on November 29, 2017.

Joseph Hall Wilson is an American film director and producer, best known for documentaries and impact campaigns that explore oppression and empowerment among gender and sexual minority communities. He has received an Emmy, GLAAD Media and several film festival awards, and his work has been supported by the Sundance Institute, Ford Foundation, ITVS and Pacific Islanders in Communications.
