Hosea Gerard Fortune (born March 4, 1959) is a former American football wide receiver. He played for the San Diego Chargers in 1983. [1] [2]

High School and College career

In January 1977 he received the honor of Beverly Hills High School Player of the Year for the season 1975-1976 and the Citizens Savings Athletic Foundation Trophy. [3] In 1977 he also received All-CIF 3-A First Team Offense honors. [4] Fortune played four years for the Rice Owls where he lettered three times. In 1981 he got All-SWC Second Team Offense honors. [5]

Professional career

In May 1982 he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Oilers. [6] In August 1982 he got signed by the Montreal Concordes of the Canadian Football League on a 14-day trial contract. [7] In August 1983 he got released by the San Diego Chargers together with Louie Kelcher, Wilbur Young, Don Goode, Gurnest Brown, Russ Washington, Jim Jodat, Jeff Moore, Darryl Bowles, Steve Krainock and Darrell Pattillo. [8] Before he signed with the Chargers he worked as a male model. [9]

He got released in June 1985 by the Edmonton Eskimos together with six other players. [10]

Donald David Coryell was an American football coach. He coached in high school, college, and the professional ranks; his most notable NCAA post was with the San Diego State Aztecs, then he moved on to the National Football League (NFL), first with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1973 to 1977 and the San Diego Chargers from 1978 to 1986. Well known for his innovations in football's passing game, in particular the Air Coryell offense he created with the Chargers. Coryell was the first head coach to win more than 100 games at both the collegiate and professional levels was inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame in 1994, the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2023.

Ernie Zampese was an American professional football coach in the National Football League (NFL). Playing for Santa Barbara High School, he was selected as the CIF Player of the Year in 1953 and went on to play at the halfback position for the USC Trojans in 1955 and 1956. Henry "Hank" Ilesic is a former all-star punter in the Canadian Football League. He also handled place kicking and kickoffs. He was twice an all-star punter and played in the CFL for 19 seasons. He played on seven Grey Cup winning teams, and retired in 2001. He remains third overall for Most Punting Yards, All-Time Regular Season. He played one season in the National Football League.

He played college football at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was also a member of the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). Butler played in the East-West Shrine Game in 1993.
