Shooting at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, as approved by the International Shooting Sport Federation, comprised 10 metre air rifle and 10 metre air pistol, each for boys and girls, with 80 competitors altogether. For each of the four events, a total of twenty NOCs qualified and participated with one competitor each.

Yang Haoran is a Chinese sport shooter. He has collected a remarkable career tally of fourteen medals and broke eight world junior records in air rifle shooting at major international competitions, spanning the Youth Olympics, Asian Games, World Championships, and World Cup series. Having pursued the sport since age 12, Yang trained full-time as a member of the Chinese shooting team, at the sports academy in Chengde, under his personal coach and 2000 Olympic champion Cai Yalin.
Vyacheslav Skoromnov is an Uzbek-born Qatari sport shooter. He has been selected to compete for his native Uzbekistan in rifle shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and has achieved a total of two medals, a gold and a silver, and numerous top ten finishes in a major international competition, spanning the Asian Games, and the Asian Championships. Currently living in Doha, Qatar since 2010, Skoromnov holds his dual citizenship to compete internationally in shooting.
Ahmed Mohamed is an Egyptian sport shooter. He won a gold medal in air pistol shooting at the 2015 African Championships and shared a runner-up prize with Singapore's Teh Xiu Yi in the mixed international pistol team at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.
Afaf El-Hodhod is an Egyptian sport shooter. She won a total of three medals, including two golds, in both air and sport pistol at the African Shooting Championships, and also attained a top five finish at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.
Mairaj Ahmed Khan is an Indian shooter in the shotgun skeet discipline. He won the Olympics quota in the Shotgun Skeet Event in Lonato, Italy in September 2015, the first Indian to qualify in this discipline.
