Hovithal Sothu (born 9 August 1969), is an Indian Educationist from Nagaland and the present Project Director at Task Force For Music & Arts, Government of Nagaland. [1] [2]
Hovithal Sothu was born on 9 August 1969, in Viswema, Nagaland. He received his primary education from St. Joseph's School, Viswema and finished high school from Loyola School, Jakhama. Then, he went on to join the Kohima Science College to pursue his dreams of becoming a doctor where he completed his B.Sc. [3]
He found his first employment opportunity in the PWD Department and started his career as a peon on fixed pay. He went on to complete his M.Sc, after which, he was selected as a lecturer at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma. [4]
He taught at Kohima Science College for a few decades until he chanced upon a vacant post for an associate professor under Home Department in the Nagaland Disaster Management Cell.[ citation needed ]
In between, he also managed to earn his doctorate. Over the years, he has been closely monitoring trainings on Nagaland Services Rules, Disciplinary Rules, Human Rights, Consumer Rights, Elections (for which, he is also the State Master Trainer), basic office procedures, motivation, leadership, etc and also Issues on duties of citizens and Rights and Welfare with People with Disability. He has also published papers in the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and Indian Landslides Journal.[ citation needed ]
Later on he went on to become the State Coordinator of Disaster Management Cell at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI).[ citation needed ]
At present, he is serving as the Project Director for Task Force For Music & Arts, Government of Nagaland [5]
Nagaland is a landlocked state in the north-eastern region of India. Neiphiu Guolhoulie Rio is an Indian politician who serving as the 9th and current Chief Minister of Nagaland since 2018, previously 2008 to 2014 and from 2003 to 2008. Nagaland University is a Central University established in the state of Nagaland by an Act of Parliament by the Government of India in 1989. It is headquartered at Lumami, Zünheboto District. Two other permanent campuses are located at Meriema and Medziphema. Also there is a temporary campus in Dimapur where B. Tech courses are offered. Vizol Vitso-n Koso was an Indian politician from Nagaland who served as the 4th Chief Minister of Nagaland twice from February 1974 until March 1975 and November 1977 until April 1980. He became the Chief Minister of Nagaland as part of the United Democratic Front (Nagaland).
Viswema is a Southern Angami Naga village in the Kohima District of the Indian state of Nagaland. With a resident population of 7417, it is the second biggest village in the state and is part of the contiguous built-up of the Kohima Metropolitan Area that extends into the neighboring areas of Jakhama, Kigwema and Khuzama in the Southern Angami region, forming the second largest urban agglomerations in Nagaland. Its vast territory also lies across the inter-state boundary in Manipur where notable features including Mount Tempü (Iso) at 9822 feet (2994m) also the highest peak in Manipur, the thick forest of Kezol-tsa and a major portion of the Dzüko Valley is located.
Mmhonlümo Kikon is an Indian politician, poet, former social worker from Nagaland. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is currently a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 40 Bhandari Constituency in Wokha District.
The Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) is an autonomous government institute for undergraduate and postgraduate science education located at Jotsoma in the state of Nagaland, India. The college was established in 1961 with science education in higher secondary and under graduate levels.
