Hubert Sitko (born 26 December 1939) is a Polish former ice hockey player. He played for Start Katowice and GKS Katowice during his career. With GKS Katowice Sitko won the Polish hockey league championship four times. He also played for the Polish national team at four World Championships as well as the 1964 Winter Olympics. [1]
GKS Katowice is a Polish professional football club based in Katowice. They will compete in the Ekstraklasa in the 2024–25 season after gaining promotion from the I liga in 2024.
Henryk Jerzy Gruth is a former Polish professional ice hockey defenceman. One of the best Polish players, Gruth played for GKS Katowice and GKS Tychy in Poland. He spent one season in Switzerland with the Zürcher SC, where he scored seven goals and nineteen assists. He was inducted to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2006.

GKS Katowice is a professional ice hockey team in Katowice, Poland. The team was founded in 1964. GKS Katowice won six Polska Liga Hokejowa titles between 1958 and 1970. From 2017 to 2019 the name of the club was changed to Tauron KH GKS Katowice, due to sponsorship by Tauron Group. The club finished the regular season 2021-2022 in 1st place and won the playoffs by defeating Zagłębie Sosnowiec, GKS Tychy and Unia Oświęcim.

Patryk Wronka is a Polish professional ice hockey forward currently playing for Podhale Nowy Targ in the Polska Hokej Liga. His grandfather, Tadeusz Kacik, also played hockey, and represented Poland at the 1972 Winter Olympics.
The 2016–17 Polska Hokej Liga season was the 82nd season of the Polska Hokej Liga, the top level of ice hockey in Poland. Eleven teams participated in the league. Two teams returned to the league: GKS Katowice returned after a year of inactivity, and Stoczniowiec Gdańsk was promoted from the Polish 1. Liga. Due to financial constraints, KH Zagłębie Sosnowiec, Naprzód Janów, and STS Sanok did not return to the league. Sosnowiec and Janów dropped down to the Polish 1. Liga, while Sanok suspended operations altogether.

He mainly played for GKS Katowice during his career, as well as the Polish national team at several world championships as well as the 1964 Winter Olympics. He helped Katowice win the Polish league title five times, and later coached the team as well.

Adolf Wróbel is a Polish former ice hockey player. He played for Górnik Katowice, Legia Warsaw, and GKS Katowice during his career. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1956 Winter Olympics and the 1955 World Championship. Two of his brothers, Alfred and Antoni, also played for Poland at the Olympics; Alfred in both 1952 and 1956, and Antoni in 1952.
Sylwester Wilczek is a Polish former ice hockey player and coach. He played for Gwardia Katowice and Górnik Katowice during his career. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1964 Winter Olympics and several World Championships. After his playing career he turned to coaching, and including two years as head coach of GKS Katowice, as Górnik had been renamed.

Wojciech Maciej Tkacz is a Polish former ice hockey player. He played for GKS Katowice, Mora IK, Unia Oświęcim, and GKS Tychy during his career. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1992 Winter Olympics, and multiple World Championships. In 1991 Tkacz led the Polish league in scoring.
Wiesław Wawrzyniec Tokarz is a Polish former ice hockey player. He played for Podhale Nowy Targ, GKS Katowice, and Zagłębie Sosnowiec during his career. Tokarz won the Polish league championship six times, twice with Podhale in 1971 and 1972, and with Zagłębie from 1980 until 1983. He also played for the Polish national team at the 1972 Winter Olympics and multiple World Championships. His brother, Leszek, also played hockey, and was a teammate at the 1972 Winter Olympics. In 2005 he was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit for his services to sport.

He won the Polish league championship in eight times during his career, six with Polonia and two with Unia. Stebnicki also played for the Polish national team at the 1988 Winter Olympics and several World Championships.
