Huevos Rancheros were a Canadian surf rock band from Calgary, Alberta, [1] active from 1990 to 2000. [2] Huevos Rancheros performed an instrumental blend of rockabilly, surf, garage and punk music.
Initially consisting of guitarist Brent Cooper, bassist Graham Evans and drummer Richie Ranchero, [3] Huevos Rancheros released the six-song EP Huevosaurus independently in 1990 before releasing the EP Rocket to Nowhere in 1991 on Estrus Records. [3] In its early years the band was sometimes described as a cross between Led Zeppelin and The Ventures. [3]
The band then signed to C/Z Records, which reissued Huevosaurus in 1992 before releasing the band's full-length album Endsville in 1993. [4]
In 1995, the band signed to Mint Records. [5] Around the same time, Evans left the band and was replaced by Tom Kennedy. [6] The band's instrumental rock record Dig In was released that year. [7]
In 1998, their album Get Outta Dodge was nominated for a Juno Award in the Best Alternative Album category. [8] [2]
After touring in Europe with Duotang, [9] in 2000 the band released the album Muerte del Toro . [10] [11] They broke up soon after, although they have performed occasional reunion shows at benefit concerts to raise money for a journalism scholarship named in memory of former Calgary Herald music critic James Muretich. [12] The reunion show lineup has featured Evans rather than Kennedy on bass. [12]
Cooper went on to found The Ramblin' Ambassadors, a three-piece instrumental band. [13] [14]
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet are a Juno Award-winning Canadian instrumental rock band, formed in 1984. They remain best known for the track "Having an Average Weekend", of which an alternate version was used as the theme to the Canadian sketch comedy TV show The Kids in the Hall. Although commonly classified as a surf rock band they rejected the label, going so far as to release a track called "We're Not a Fucking Surf Band", although they also later released a compilation box set titled Oh, I Guess We Were a Fucking Surf Band After All.
The Woman in Me is the second studio album by Canadian country singer-songwriter Shania Twain and her first to be produced by long-time collaborator and then-husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange. Released on February 7, 1995, it went on to become her biggest-selling recording at the time, selling 4 million copies by the end of the year, and was eventually certified 12× Platinum by the RIAA on December 1, 2000, for 12 million shipments throughout the United States. The album has sold an estimated 20 million copies worldwide. It was ranked number 8 on CMT's list of 40 Greatest Albums in Country Music in 2006. The album is credited with having influenced the sound of contemporary country music. Eight singles were released from the album for its promotion, including "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?", "Any Man of Mine", "(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!" and "You Win My Love", with each accompanied by a music video.
Mint Records is a Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based independent record label founded in 1991, by friends and campus radio enthusiasts Randy Iwata and Bill Baker. Mint has put out over 150 releases, several of which have won Juno Awards.

Reverie Sound Revue is a Canadian indie rock group formed in 2002 in Calgary. The group consists of Marc De Pape (guitar), John-Marcel de Waal (drums), Bryce Gracey, Lisa Lobsinger (vocals) and Patrick Walls (guitar). They are fronted by Lobsinger, who occasionally contributes to indie band Broken Social Scene. The group originally formed in Calgary, Alberta in 2002, disbanded in 2004, but later reformed in 2005. They have established a large fan base in Canada, but have had little success outside the country. Their albums have received mostly positive reviews from critics, although their songs have been criticized for not being memorable enough.

Get Outta Dodge is the third studio album by Huevos Rancheros, a Canadian punk rock band. It was released on September 30, 1996, on Mint Records. It was licensed out to Konkurrent Records in the Netherlands. The title refers to the expression "Get out of Dodge", an exhortation that was given in the drama series, Gunsmoke, to villains whom the heroes wanted out of Dodge City, Kansas.
Muerte del Toro is the fourth studio album by Huevos Rancheros. It was released on May 2, 2000 on Mint Records on CD and translucent red vinyl.

Los Lobos del Este de Los Angeles is the debut album by the American band Los Lobos, at the time known as Los Lobos del Este de Los Angeles. It was self-released by the band in early 1978 and features mostly traditional Mexican folk music. The album was recorded live to 16-track and represented the band's live repertoire at the time, which included their original song, "Flor de Huevo", an instrumental written by guitarist David Hidalgo.
