Manchester Velodrome is an indoor Olympic-standard cycle-racing track in Manchester, England, which opened in 1994. Part of the National Cycling Centre, the facility has been home to British Cycling since 1994 and the five time Tour de France-winning UCI ProTeam Team Sky since it formed in 2009. The Manchester Velodrome has been cited as the major catalyst for Britain's successes in track and road cycling and has been described by Cycling Weekly as the "beating heart of British Cycling’s ascension to the top of world cycling".

Hayles competed in the team pursuit and madison events, until his retirement in 2011. He now occasionally provides studio-based analysis of cycle races for British Eurosport.

Representing Welsh Cycling and Great Britain in international competitions, Barker is an Olympic, two-time world and six-time European champion in the team pursuit, as well as a two-time world champion in the points race and scratch race. Barker was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to cycling.
Katie Archibald, is a British racing cyclist, who currently rides on the track for Great Britain and Scotland. A member of the Great Britain 2016 Olympic champion team in women's team pursuit, she is a champion in the same event at both the World (2014) and European championships and world record holder. Individually, Archibald has been European champion in the elimination race in 2015, twice in the omnium in 2016 and 2017 and a four time European champion in the individual pursuit between 2013 and 2017. In 2017 she secured her first individual global title, winning the Omnium at the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and won a third world championship the following year when partnering Emily Nelson to win the Madison at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Her brother, John, is also a cyclist. Both won medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games representing Scotland; Katie gold in the women's individual pursuit and John silver in the men's. She holds the women's British national record for the individual pursuit.
Benjamin Thomas is a French professional road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Groupama–FDJ. He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. In August 2018, he was named in the startlist for the 2018 Vuelta a España. He is not to be confused with the astronomer Benjamin Thomas. In October 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Giro d'Italia.

Oliver "Oli" Wood is a British cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Canyon DHB p/b Soreen. He has represented Great Britain at international competitions in track cycling winning bronze medals at the 2016 UEC European Track Championships in the team pursuit and at the 2018 UEC European Track Championships in the madison.
