Hugo Gallet (born 20 June 1997) is a French professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for IPK of the Finnish Mestis.

Ice hockey is a contact team sport played on ice, usually in a rink, in which two teams of skaters use their sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into their opponent's net to score points. The sport is known to be fast-paced and physical, with teams usually consisting of six players each: one goaltender, and five players who skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and score a goal against the opposing team.

Defence in ice hockey is a player position whose primary responsibility is to prevent the opposing team from scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners. They were once called cover-point. A good defenceman is both strong in defensive and offensive play and for defenceman pairing also need to be good at defending and attacking.

Iisalmen Peli-Karhut is a Finnish semi-professional ice hockey team based in Iisalmi, Finland, playing in the Mestis. The club was founded in 1966 and play their home games in the Kankaan jäähalli.

Gallet previously played in the Ligue Magnus for Boxers de Bordeaux before joining IPK on June 14, 2019. He is also a member of the French national team and represented France at the 2018 and 2019 IIHF World Championship. [1]

Ligue Magnus

Synerglace Ligue Magnus is the current name for the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league was renamed in 2004 to take the name of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. During the 2015–16 and 2016-17 seasons, the league was officially known as Saxoprint Ligue Magnus, due to a sponsorship deal with Saxoprint, the online printing subsidiary of German conglomerate Cewe.
