Mithun Chakraborty is an Indian actor, producer and politician who predominantly worked in Hindi and Bengali language films. He is a former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament. He is the recipient of three National Film Awards for Best Actor and Four Film Fare Awards. In January 2024, Chakraborty was awarded Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour, by the Government of India.
Kimi Katkar is a former actress and model, who worked in Hindi films. She was active throughout the 1980s and the early 1990s, and starred in over 50 films, including Adventures of Tarzan (1985) and Hum (1991).

Lyrics were by Gulzar and music by Laxmikant–Pyarelal, the latter of whom would go on to collaborate with Dutta in all his films until Kshatriya (1993). It was shot at Fatehpur, Rajasthan. Amitabh Bachchan narrated the film.
