Hypnos is an independent record label, located in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was started in 1996 by M. Griffin to release his own recordings, both solo and for his collaborative project Viridian Sun, and has since become an established [1] [2] ambient label.
The music released tends toward more minimal, dark ambient or drone styles, mostly electronic in basis, though ambient works based upon guitar, tuba, cello, and location recordings have also been released by Hypnos.
Their first release was the CD Washed in Mercury by Saul Stokes in 1997. As of 2011, more than 100 CDs have been released by Hypnos and its sub-labels.
Griffin has also started several side-labels with collaborators to focus on other genres of music. These include the Binary and Hypnos Secret Sounds sub-labels.

A Walk Across the Rooftops is the debut album by Scottish band The Blue Nile, released on 30 April 1984 on Linn Records in the UK and on A&M Records in the US. Although the album was released to little fanfare and was not a big hit on its initial release, it slowly accumulated fans and sales through word of mouth as the years passed, and by the time the follow-up Hats was released in 1989, A Walk Across the Rooftops had sold 80,000 copies. It continued to gather praise when reissued in 2012.

Pearce started playing guitar at age 13 and discovered the music of Brian Eno and Harold Budd while in college.
The All-Star Futures Game is an annual baseball exhibition game hosted by Major League Baseball (MLB) as part of its midsummer All-Star Game festivities. From 1999 to 2018, a team of prospects from the United States competed against a team of prospects from other countries around the world and Puerto Rico. Two-Fisted Tales is the third studio album by American band the Long Ryders, released in 1987 by Island Records. It was their last studio album for 32 years until 2019's Psychedelic Country Soul. The album yielded two singles, a cover of NRBQ’s "I Want You Bad" and "Gunslinger Man". On Two-Fisted Tales, the Long Ryders moved further away from their country rock origins towards a more college rock direction.
