IK Tigrene was an ice hockey team in Oslo, Norway.

History

The club first participated in the 1. divisjon, the top level of Norwegian ice hockey, in the 1951-52 season. They won the league and were Norwegian champions in 1956-57 [1] and 1960-61. [2] The club merged with IF Frisk for the 1969-70 season. [3]

GET-ligaen Norwegian ice hockey league

GET-ligaen is the premier Norwegian ice hockey league, organised by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. It comprises 10 clubs and works on the premise of promotion and relegation, in which the two teams who placed last must play the top two teams from First Division for the rights to play in the next GET-ligaen season.

The first played in the OHA Senior A League from 1954 to 1960, winners of the 1958 World Ice Hockey Championships. The second was a Junior team for a single 1962-63 season.

Ray Gariepy Canadian ice hockey player

Raymond Joseph "Rockabye Ray" Gariepy was a Canadian professional ice hockey hard hitting defenceman, who played half a season for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League. Originally scouted by Hap Emms of the Barrie Flyers, of the OHA Jr. A, of which Ray was Captain for all 3 years. After Jr. A., Ray played with the Buffalo Bisons AHL, Houston Huskies & Louisville Blades USHL,(1948–49) and Hershey Bears (1950–53) of the AHL. In 1954-55 Ray played for the Pittsburgh Hornets that won the AHL Championship's top prize; The Calder Cup. He finished his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League in the 1955-56 season after playing one game.
