The IMOCA 60-class yacht Aviva was designed by Owen Clark Design and launched in September 2006 after being made by Hakes Marine based in New Zealand. [1] [2] The boat is a sistership to the Ecover 3. [3] [4] Note during the run up the original Group 4 was branded as Aviva "111" and used for initial training events while this boat was in build.

Mike Golding is an English yachtsman, born in Great Yarmouth and educated at Reading Blue Coat School. He is one of the few yachtsmen to have raced round the world non-stop in both directions. He held the solo record for sailing round the world westabout between 1994 and 2000.
Denise "Dee" Caffari MBE is a British sailor, and in 2006 became the first woman to sail single-handedly and non-stop around the world "the wrong way"; westward against the prevailing winds and currents. In February 2009, Caffari completed the Vendée Globe race and set a new record to become the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world in both directions.
Ari Huusela is a professional Finnish pilot and amateur offshore single-handed sailor. He has flown 25,000 hours and has sailed over 50,000 nautical miles.
The 2020–2021 Vendée Globe was a non-stop round the world yacht race for IMOCA 60 class yachts crewed by only one person. It was the ninth edition of the race, which started and finished in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France. The race began on 8 November 2020, with the first finishers completing the course on 27 January 2021 with the 25th and final yacht to complete the race arrived on 5 March 2021.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Estrella Damm was designed by Farr Yacht Design and launched in the 2007 after being built by Offshore Challenges who are not a boatbuilder but brought in specialist to build the boat in Cowes on the Isle of Wight in England. This racing yacht is not to be confused with Estrella Damm 2, which competed in the 2010 Barcelona World Race.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht PRB 4 was designed by Farr Yacht Design and launched in September 2006 after being assembled by CDK Technologies based in Lorient, France. The boat is a sister ship to Foncia, which was launched in May 2007.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Delta Dore was designed by Farr Yacht Design and launched in the 2006 after being built by JMV, based in Cherbourg, France.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Ecover 3 was designed by Owen Clark Design, made by the New Zealand-based Hakes Marine and launched in September 2006. The boat is a sister ship to Aviva.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Brit Air (2), sail number FRA 62, was designed by Finot-Conq and launched in July 2007 after being built by Multiplast in France. Not to be confused with the IMOCA 60 Sodebo was rebranded for the 2006 season and competed as Brit Air while this boat was inbuild.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Hugo Boss 7 was designed by VPLP, Alex Thompson Racing and Gurit and launched in August 2019 after being built by Carrington Boats based in Hythe, England. The boat contained a number of innovative features and was the first IMOCA to have a fully enclosed cockpit. The hull form was also optimised for the semi-foiling nature of the class.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht L'Occitane en Provence, FRA 2, was designed by Sam Manuard and launched on the 31st January 2020 after being assembled by Black Pepper Yachts based in Nantes, France. Pauger Composites in Hungary did the hull moulding.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Paprec-Virbac 2 was designed by Farr Yacht Design, assembled by Southern Ocean Marine based in New Zealand and then shipped to France where it was launched in 2007. The boat is a sister ship to Gitana 80, also built by the same builder from the same moulds.
The IMOCA 60 class yacht Demain c'est loin was designed by Owen Clark Design and launched in September 2006 after being made by Southern Ocean Marine in New Zealand. The boat is a development of Ecover 2 and Aviva made by the same builder and designer and looks like the same moulds.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht MACSF was designed by Lauriot-Prévost and G. Verdier and launched in the August 2007 after being built by Chantier Naval de Laros in France.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Spirit of Canada was designed by Owen Clark Design, built by first owner Derek Hatfield in Cobourg, Canada, and launched in September 2006.
