iPath Footwear is a skateboard shoe and apparel company founded in 1999. [1]

Company History

Founded in 1999 in San Francisco by Brian Krauss and Matt Field, iPath Footwear manufactured simple designs at a time of highly technical skate shoes. [2] The company was founded on principles of high performance and low environmental impact. [3] Additionally, iPath was the first skate shoe company to introduce the Hemp material to the skate shoe market. [4] The company formerly known as IPATH LLC, changed its name to IPATH Footwear, Inc. in April 2007 when it was acquired by The Timberland Company. [5]

The company is currently based in Encinitas, California. [6]

Skate shoes or skateboard shoes are a type of footwear specifically designed and manufactured for use in skateboarding. While numerous non-skaters choose to wear skate shoes as they are popular in fashion, the design of the skate shoe includes many features designed especially for use in skateboarding, including a vulcanized rubber or polyurethane sole with minimal tread pattern or no pattern, a composition leather or suede upper, and double or triple stitching to extend the life of the upper material. A low, padded tongue is often included for comfort.

Fallen Footwear company

Fallen Footwear is an American skateboarding footwear and apparel brand founded by professional skateboarder Jamie Thomas in 2003, after leaving Circa. The company which was out of the market for almost two years (2016-2017) has now been acquired for a global re-launch by Town Connection, an investment group with its headquarters in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Black Box Distribution was a skateboard distributor owned by professional skateboarder Jamie Thomas. Prior to October 2014, it served seven brands, three of which were owned by Thomas: Fallen Footwear, Mystery Skateboards and Zero Skateboards. In June 2015, the company no longer existed, and the Zero and Fallen brands were distributed by Dwindle Distribution.

Anthony Van Engelen is an American professional skateboarder whose stance is Regular. In the skateboarding scene he is well known by the name “AVE”, which is an acronym of his full name.

DVS Shoes American footwear and clothing company

DVS Shoes is an American footwear and clothing company that specialises in products for skateboarding, moto, and snowboarding. In a 2018 interview on The Nine Club, Tim Gavin explained the name DVS "...didn't mean anything." and is not a shortened version of the word "devious". As of December 2013, the company is based in Westminster, in the Orange County area of California, US, and is a subsidiary of the Sequential Brands Group. The company defines itself as "... driven from the pursuit of building product that embodies the sports the company athletes breathe every day. With roots deeply embedded in skate, the company has the platform to develop truly technological products that bring the riders personalities to life."

Cliché Skateboards

Cliché Skateboards was a skateboard company based in Lyon, France, and distributed by the American company Dwindle Distribution. The company was established in 1997 by French professional skateboarder Jeremie Daclin. In 2001, Cliché was purchased by the France-based Salomon Group which in 2005 became a part of Amer Sports. In 2009, US-based Dwindle Distribution purchased the company from the Salomon Group. In November 2016, Dwindle announced that they would be discontinuing the brand.

Supra is an American shoe brand founded in California by Angel Cabada, in partnership with professional skateboarders such as Chad Muska, Jim Greco and Erik Ellington. Muska has described the founding of the company as an "underground idea", shared between five people, that became a "crazy explosion". The brand has released signature model shoes from team riders, such as Muska, Ellington, Jim Greco, Tom Penny, and Stevie Williams. As of October 2014, the brand is distributed by One Distribution, the parent company of the F1 clothing brand.
