"I Dare You" is the second single from Shinedown's second album, Us and Them . It reached number two on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, and was a minor crossover hit, reaching number 88 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was the secondary theme for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) WrestleMania 22 and also used in a promo for WWE Friday Night SmackDown's move to myNetworkTV on October 3, 2008, and was also sung on American Idol by Chris Daughtry.

Shinedown is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed by singer Brent Smith in 2001 after the dissolution of Dreve, his previous band. Smith, still under contract with record label Atlantic Records, recruited the band's original lineup of Jasin Todd as guitarist, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums. Consistent for the first two album cycles, a few lineup changes followed in the late 2000s, eventually stabilizing with Smith and Kerch alongside Zach Myers on guitar and Eric Bass on bass. On March 19, 2018 Us and Them was certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling 1 million units in the United States.
