Ian Stuart Whyte (born 17 September 1971) is a Welsh actor, stuntman and former professional basketball player. He is best known for his roles as Predators in the Alien vs. Predator film series, Sheikh Suleiman in the 2010 remake of Clash of the Titans , The Last Engineer in Prometheus , as well as various characters in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones .
Raised in Brighton, Whyte began his career a professional basketball player with clubs in several countries, including FC Porto where he was a Portuguese champion in 1996–97, and culminating in a six-year spell with the Newcastle Eagles. [1] He also collected 80 caps for the England national team. [2]
After his retirement from basketball in 2003 he began his second career as a stuntman and actor. [3]
Whyte is best known for portraying Predators in the movies Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem , in particular Wolf in the latter. [4]
In 2010, Whyte played Sheikh Sulieman in Clash of the Titans . [5]
Whyte portrayed one of the "Engineer" aliens seen in Ridley Scott's 2012 science fiction film, Prometheus . [6]
He has portrayed various characters requiring a physically tall actor in the HBO series Game of Thrones , including White Walkers in season 1 and season 2 and a giant in the opening episode of season 3. For these roles he was unrecognisable under make-up and computer effects. In season 2, he also had a speaking role as Gregor Clegane. [7] In season 5 and season 6, Whyte portrayed the giant Wun Wun. [8] He later played a giant wight in episode 3 of Season 8.
Whyte was born in Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales. He is 7 ft 1 in (216 cm) tall. [5] [8] Whyte is married and has one son. [9]

Peter Hayden Dinklage is an American actor. Portraying Tyrion Lannister on the HBO television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), Dinklage won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series a record four times. He also received a Golden Globe Award in 2011 and a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2020 for the role. Dinklage has a common form of dwarfism known as achondroplasia, and stands 4 ft 5 in (1.35 m) tall. He has used his celebrity status to raise social awareness of dwarfism.

Alien vs. Predator is a 2004 science fiction action horror film written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, and starring Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Bova, Lance Henriksen, Ewen Bremner, Colin Salmon, and Tommy Flanagan. It is the first film installment of the Alien vs. Predator franchise, the fifth film in the Alien franchise and third film of the Predator franchise, adapting a crossover bringing together the eponymous creatures of the Alien and Predator series, a concept which originated in a 1989 comic book written by Randy Stradley and Chris Warner. Anderson wrote the story, with the creators of the Alien franchise, Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett receiving additional story credit due to the incorporation of elements from the Alien series, and Anderson and Shane Salerno adapted the story into a screenplay. Gregor Clegane, nicknamed "The Mountain That Rides" or simply "The Mountain", is a fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation Game of Thrones. In the books, the character is initially introduced in 1996's A Game of Thrones. He subsequently appeared in A Clash of Kings (1998), A Storm of Swords (2000) and in A Dance with Dragons (2011).

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is a 2007 American science fiction horror action film starring Steven Pasquale, Reiko Aylesworth, John Ortiz, Johnny Lewis and Ariel Gade. The directorial debut of The Brothers Strause, the film was written by Shane Salerno and is a direct sequel to Alien vs. Predator (2004) as well as the second and latest installment in the Alien vs. Predator franchise, the sixth film in the Alien franchise and the fourth film in the Predator franchise, continuing the crossover between the Alien and Predator franchises.

Although Bowlby, Bomer, and Fraser reprise their roles from the series Titans, the two shows were said to be set in separate continuities, before nonetheless having a crossover during the fourth and final season of Titans.
