Durrës District was one of the was one of the 36 districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12 counties. It had a population of 182,988 in 2001, and an area of 455 km2 (176 sq mi). The district seat was the city of Durrës. Its territory is now part of Durrës County: the municipalities of Durrës and Shijak.
Shijak is a town and a municipality in Durrës County, west-central Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Gjepalaj, Maminas, Shijak and Xhafzotaj, that became municipal units. Dinamo Shkodër wins the division champion title by beating Puna Gjirokastër in the final.
