Ibrahim Saleem (also known as Bandhu Ibrahim Saleem) is a local business expert in the Maldives. He commenced his career at the Office of the Prime Minister in 1967, from there on he has had an illustrious career spanning over 44 years, holding prominent posts, both in the public and private sector in Maldives. Career

Mr Saleem commenced his Government Services at the Office of the Prime Minister in 1967. He also served at the Maldives Shipping Limited until he was posted at the Department of Finance as an Assistant Director. In 1991. he became a Director at the Ministry of Finance. He was the Vice Governor of the Maldives to the World Bank from 1981 to 1987. He has also served as Member of the Board of Directors of Dhiraagu, the Maldives Telecommunications Company, Maldives National Shipping Limited and as Chairman of the Board of MTCC and the Maldives Finance Leasing Company. In 1993, Mr Saleem was appointed Managing Director of the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). [2]

Mr Saleem was appointed the Honorary Consul of Italy in the Maldives in 1998. [3]

He was also the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services 2002 to 2011. At the Island Aviation Services, he was instrumental in the expansion of the company in terms of the fleet capacity of aircraft and passenger flows; and commencing international operations. At present, he is appointed as the Chairman of the board of Island Aviation Services. [4]

Maumoon Abdul Gayoom is a Maldivian politician and an Islamic scholar who served as President of Maldives from 1978 to 2008. Ahmed Shafeeq Ibrahim Moosa, also known as Sappé, is a Maldivian editor-in-chief and politician who served as the first Envoy for Science and Technology to be appointed by the first democratically elected president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed. He was appointed to his position on 11 March 2009 and resigned from the Maldivian government on 9 February 2012, soon after President Nasheed's government was allegedly overthrown by the incumbent President Mohammed Waheed Hassan two days earlier. Moosa is amongst those who campaigned for democracy and human rights which led to the end of the 30-year rule of Gayoom in November 2008. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the news website Dhivehi Observer.

Eydhafushi is the capital of Baa Atoll. The island is geographically located at the southern edge of Baa Atoll. It has the highest population in the atoll and most of the government offices and public facilities.

Velana International Airport Main international airport in the Maldives

Velana International Airport (VIA) is the main international airport in the Maldives. It is located on Hulhulé Island in the North Malé Atoll, nearby the capital island Malé. The airport is well connected with major airports around the world, mostly serving as the main gateway into the Maldives for tourists. It is managed financially and administratively by an independent corporate entity known as Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

Johor Corporation (JCorp) or Perbadanan Johor is a Malaysian government-linked company, formerly known as the "Johor State Economic Development Corporation" (JSEDC). Formed in 1968, it is part of the government's affirmative action programs to restructure its multi-ethnic society by eradicating the economic imbalance between the Malays and the non-Malays. Qasim Ibrahim

Qasim Ibrahim, also known as Buruma Qasim, is a Maldivian politician, business magnate and philanthropist. As the chairman and founder of the Villa Group, he is one of the country's wealthiest businessmen.

Dhadimagu is an administrative division of Fuvahmulah, Maldives. It is the largest division of the island, located on the north-west of the island. Throughout history, many scholars and famous public figures came into being from this district housing many of the historical sites and landmarks of the island. A center of learning as well as an important location for the island's economy, the number of 'Hafiz's and teachers from this district outnumber that of any other district in Fuvahmulah, and this district is considered by many to be the most educated and learning-centered district of Fuvahmulah.

Vijay Kelkar Indian economist and academic (born 1942)

Vijay L. Kelkar is an Indian economist and academic, who is currently the Chairman of the Forum of Federations, Ottawa & India Development Foundation, New Delhi and Chairman of Janwani – a social initiative of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) in Pune. He has been appointed as a trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust on 4 January 2014. He was also the Chairman of the Finance Commission until January 2010. He was earlier Advisor to the Minister of Finance (2002–2004), and is known for his role in economic reforms in India. Prior to this, he remained Finance Secretary, Government of India 1998–1999, and in 1999 he has been nominated as Executive director of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka on the board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Habib Ibrahim Rahimtoola was a Pakistani politician, diplomat and industrialist. He served as High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom between (1947–52). Rahimtoola also served as Governor of Sindh (1953–54) and later as the Governor of Punjab (1954).

Senator Saleem H. Mandviwalla is a Pakistani politician who serves as deputy chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, in office since March 2018. He was previously the president of the Board of Investment and Minister of State for Investment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a position he held from October 2008 till May 2013. Prior to his appointment, he was the president of the Lasbela Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Lasbela, Balochistan. He was appointed Minister of Finance on 19 February 2013 till 7 June 2013. Saleem Mandviwalla was unanimously elected as chairperson for Senate's Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization. Saleem Mandviwalla elected Vice Chairman of Senate of Pakistan on March 12, 2018 with 54 votes out of total 103 votes cast and defeated Usman Khan Kakar who secured only 44 votes. To be elected for the seat of Vice Chairman Senate, candidate had to secure at least 53 votes from the house of 104. On 1 August 2019, a no-confidence motion was presented by the government in the senate to remove him from the post of the Deputy Chairman of the Senate, but the motion failed. The government couldn't get enough required votes to remove him from the post.

The Cabinet of the Maldives is the most senior level of the executive branch of the Government of the Maldives. It is made up of the President, the Vice-President, Attorney General and the Ministers.

Lawrence Wong Singaporean politician

Lawrence Wong Shyun Tsai is a Singaporean politician who has been serving as Minister for Finance since 2021. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is a Member of the 14th Parliament and has been representing the Limbang ward of Marsiling–Yew Tee Group Representation Constituency (GRC) since 2015.

Ltd is a private conglomerate which is amongst the largest private business in the Maldives with major operations in Shipping, Import and Export, General Trade and Tourism, fishing, media, communication, transport and education related Businesses. Foundation of Villa Group can be traced back to 1986 when Qasim Ibrahim registered a Shipping and Trading company named 'Villa', the common trade name.

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) is a fully autonomous body responsible for tax administration in the Maldives. MIRA collected 78.1% of the total revenue collected by the government of Maldives in 2018. The main responsibilities of MIRA include execution of tax laws, implementation of tax policies and providing technical advice to the government in determining tax policies. The Tax Administration Act stipulates the other responsibilities of MIRA.

Davies and Newman Limited was a privately held British shipping company, formed in 1922, a member of the Baltic Exchange, from which several other companies developed, including Dan-Air, Dan-Air Engineering, Dan-Air Flying Services, Dan-Air Intercontinental, and Davies and Newman Travel. The company also owned Gatwick Handling, jointly with Laker Airways.

Janaka Ratnayake Sri Lankan entrepreneur (born 1964)

Janaka Ratnayake is a veteran entrepreneur awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2000. A BSc. (Hons) in Public Administration degree graduate from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Master of Business Studies from the University of Colombo. He also successfully completed an executive education program at the prestigious University of Harvard, U.S. Currently Ratnayake serves as the Chairman of Trillium Property Management and Services Ltd, City Housing and Real Estate PLC, Trillium Residencies Pvt Ltd, and Rent A Comp Pvt Ltd.. Ratnayake is known for leading state institutions as a former chairman and chief executive of Export Development Board of Sri Lanka (EDB), Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka (MBSL), Merchant Credit Sri Lanka (MCSL), MBSL Savings Bank, and MBSL Insurance and now the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.
