Ice City Boyz, often abbreviated as ICB, also known as CSB (Crime Scene Boyz) and CRS (Church Road Soldiers), is a British hip hop collective from Church End, London.

History

The rap collective has been around since the early 2000s and started making music towards the start of the decade. Most members of the group come from the Church End Estate. The most successful artist from the group consists of Nines. Other artists in the group include Likkle T, Skrapz, J Styles, Fatz, Big Keyz, Streetz and others. [1]

Trapster Toxic released the single "Life I Live" in November 2015. [2] J Stylez, Fatz and Streetz released the single "Statement" in April 2017. [3]

Former members

Jazzy and Skrapz jailed

In January 2024, Jazzy from Crime Scene Boyz was found guilty of murdering a rival gang member, Craig Small, alongside that an attempted murder, perverting the course of justice and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 35 years. [4]

Skrapz was found guilty of perverting the course of justice for allegedly assisting in the disposal of evidence, and sentenced to 4 years and 9 months, [5] but was immediately released due to time served in custody on 2 February 2024.

Jay Midge/Don Midgey and Nines jailed

In 2013, Nines was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for possession of cannabis with intent to supply. [1] [6] According to Nines when he spoke to Chuckie Online in the "JD in the Duffle Bag Podcast", Nines recorded his promotional mixtape called "Gone 'Til November" the weekend before the Court Judge would summon him for sentencing. [7] Nines on his twitter page gave his Prison Mailing Address, to which many of his fans sent him fan mail. Upon his release, Nines bought expensive gifts and sent them by mail, and also drove round to some of the fans's houses who wrote fan mail for him whilst Nines was sitting time in Prison. This event was recorded on online music and interview platform SBTV. [8]

On 12 August 2021, Jason Thompson (a.k.a. Jay Midge/Don Midgey) and Courtney Leon Freckleton (a.k.a. Nines) admitted to money laundering and conspiring to import cannabis into the UK from Poland and Spain. [9]

After being released from prison, Don Midgey explained in his new YouTube video "Trappy" about the Crime Investigation and Nines also explained about the Crime Investigation in his "Crop Circle 2" Album Intro.

Trapstar Toxic jailed

Trapstar Toxic was caught out, which revealed him selling drugs. It was reported to the police, which led to a raid in his home in Willesden in April 2018. [10] Toxic pleaded guilty to the offences on 27 June 2018, and was jailed for five years at Harrow Crown Court on 1 March 2019. [11]

<i>Rap vs. Grime</i> 2015 mixtape by Chip

Rap vs. Grime is the tenth mixtape by British rapper Chip, released for free download on 25 December 2015. The project, which is hosted by Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, includes diss tracks aimed at Bugzy Malone and Tinie Tempah. While six music videos from the mixtape were released, "Hear Dis" / "BlukuByeByeBye" was the only single released onto iTunes, and the song entered the UK Singles Chart at number 199. It also peaked at number 26 on the UK Indie Chart.

Crop Circle is the second studio album by English rapper Nines. It was released on 20 April 2018 by XL Recordings. It is the follow-up to Nines' debut album One Foot Out (2017), which peaked at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart. The album features guest appearances from Dave, Ray BLK, Haile, Tiggs da Author and numerous Ice City Boyz members. Production is handled by 5ive Beatz, Steel Banglez, Beatfreakz, Pinero Beats, Show N Prove and Zeph Ellis.

<i>Made in the Pyrex</i> 2021 mixtape by Digga D

Made in the Pyrex is the second commercial mixtape by British rapper Digga D. It was released on 26 February 2021 by CGM. It features guest appearances from AJ Tracey, M1llionz, Sav'o and ZK.

CGM, is a British UK drill collective based in Ladbroke Grove, London specifically the Portobello Estate. They were formerly known as 1011, named after the W10 and W11 postal codes. They are considered to be one of the pioneers of the UK drill scene.

<i>Crop Circle 3</i> 2023 studio album by Nines

Crop Circle 3 is the fourth studio album by British rapper Nines, released on 6 October 2023, through Nines' own independent record label, Zino Records. It features guest appearances from Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Big Narstie, Blade Brown, Fatz, George the Poet, Little Torment, Mark Morrison, Max Valentine, M Dot R, Miraa May, Mugzz, Ouraa, ShockTown, Skrapz, Streetz, Tiggs Da Author, Trapstar Toxic, and Tunde, while the album's production was primarily handled by Jacob Manson, Karlos, and Show N Prove with assistance from Handz Beatz, Jackson Romain, RJ Cherry, and several other producers. The album serves as a follow-up to Nines' third, Crop Circle 2 (2023) and will serve as the final part of an album trilogy that began with Crop Circle (2018) and continued with Crop Circle 2 (2023). Upon the release of the album, Nines released a short film of the same name.

<i>Quit While Youre Ahead</i> 2024 studio album by Nines

Quit While You're Ahead is the sixth and final studio album by British rapper Nines, released on 27 September 2024, through Nines' own independent record label, Zino Records. It features guest appearances from Bee-Gee, Bellah, Chy Cartier, Fatz, Gappy Ranks, Henkie T, J Styles, K-Trap, Marnz Malone, NorthSideBenji, Rimzee, RM, Shocktown, Skrapz, Streetz, and Zino, while the album's production was primarily handled by JB Productionz with assistance from Cardo, Jacob Manson, Jungle, Show N Prove, Steel Banglez, and several other producers. The album serves as a follow-up to Nines' fifth, Crop Circle 3 (2023) and was released alongside the film Crop Circle Farm.
