Ignace Goris (born 16 July 1942) is a retired football referee from Genk, Belgium. He took charge of the 1984 European Competition for Women's Football Final second leg in May 1984. [1]

Mark Wayne Hateley, nicknamed Attila during his time in Milan, is an English former footballer who played as a centre forward. Hateley's breakthrough season came at Second Division side Portsmouth, where he ended the 1983–84 season as the club's top goalscorer. He then moved to A.C. Milan, and despite his time at the club affected by inconsistent performances and injuries, he is fondly remembered for his winning goal against Inter Milan in 1984. In 1987, Hateley signed for Monaco, winning the league in his first season at the Monegasque club. In 1990, he signed for Rangers. In his five-year spell at the club, he was a part of a title winning squad in every season, and he attained personal success in the 1993–94 season, as he was voted both the SFWA Footballer of the Year and the SPFA Players' Player of the Year, as well as the league's top goalscorer with twenty-two goals. He briefly rejoined the club in 1997, as there were no available forwards for the Old Firm match, but was sent off on his second debut. In 1999, Hateley was named as part of Rangers' greatest ever team, and in 2003, he was inducted to Rangers' Hall of Fame.

The association football (soccer) tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics started on July 29 and ended on August 11. It was the first Olympic soccer competition in which professionals were allowed. Until then, the amateur-only rule had heavily favored socialist countries from Eastern Europe whose players were professionals in all but name. The 1984 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was a football match contested between Juventus of Italy and Porto of Portugal. It was the final match of the 1983–84 European Cup Winners' Cup and the 24th European Cup Winners' Cup final. It was held at St. Jakob Stadium in Basel, Switzerland.

Scottish Premiership Association football top division in Scotland

The Scottish Premiership is the top division of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), the league competition for men's professional football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish Premiership was established in July 2013, after the SPFL was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League. There are 12 teams in this division, with each team playing 38 matches per season. Sixteen clubs have played in the Scottish Premiership since its creation in the 2013–14 season. Rangers are the current league champions, having won the 2020–21 Scottish Premiership. This was their 55th Scottish league championship in total, and it ended a run of nine straight league titles by Celtic.
