The compactness of the venue locations for the 2018 Winter Olympics and 2018 Winter Paralympics, hosted by the county of Pyeongchang, South Korea was one of the winning arguments of the bid. The Games were gathered around two main venues: these were the mountain resort of Alpensia in Pyeongchang for the outdoor (snow) sports and the coastal city of Gangneung for the indoor (ice) sports There were also two stand-alone mountain venues.

At the 2017 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in Tarvisio, Italy he won the gold medal in the men's Super Combined Standing.

They competed at the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang in March 2018 where they took four medals, including a gold in the slalom, making Fitzpatrick Team GB's most decorated Winter Paralympian.

Sin Eui-hyun is a South Korean male cross-country skier and biathlete. He is the first South Korean Paralympic competitor to clinch a gold medal in Winter Paralympics as he achieved it in his home nation at the 2018 Winter Paralympics.

He made his Paralympic debut at the age of 18 for Ukraine at the 2018 Winter Paralympics competing in Cross-country skiing and Biathlon events. He was the flagbearer for Russia during the 2014 Winter Paralympics as he led the Russian Paralympic delegation in its home nation at the opening ceremony of the event. He was awarded the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin in 2014 for his outstanding performance at the 2014 Winter Paralympics. Valerii Redkozubov was also awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" in March 2018 by Vladimir Putin after his impressive Paralympic record during the 2018 Winter Paralympics.
Niels de Langen is a Dutch para-alpine skier. He won two medals in alpine skiing at the 2022 Winter Paralympics.
