Iiris Hovatta (born 31 December 1970 in Espoo, Finland) is a Finnish geneticist and neuroscientist, specializing in genetics, genomics, behavioral neuroscience, and biological psychiatry. She is professor of behavioral genetics at the University of Helsinki, Finland. [1]
Hovatta obtained her MSc in genetics from the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Biosciences, in 1994, under the supervision of Leena Peltonen-Palotie. She completed her PhD in medical genetics at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Medicine, in 1998, with a thesis entitled "Molecular Genetics of Familial Schizophrenia and PLO-SL," supervised by Leena Peltonen-Palotie and Jouko Lönnqvist. In 2006, she earned the title of docent in medical molecular biology at the University of Helsinki. [2]
From 2017 she held the position of associate professor in neurogenomics at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, becoming a full professor of behavioral genetics in the Department of Psychology and Logopedics at the Faculty of Medicine in 2018.[ citation needed ]
She currently serves as a councilor on the Executive Committee o the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) for the 2022-2025 term, [3] and was a member of the Scientific Program Committee of the 35th ECNP Congress 2022.

There are 36 rare diseases regarded as Finnish heritage diseases. She is the director of the Department of Translational Research of the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich, Germany. In addition to research, she serves as Vice-President of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg is a German psychiatrist and professor in the Medical Faculty Mannheim at Heidelberg University. He is also the director and CEO of the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim, as well as medical director of their Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. His research includes work on the genetics of complex psychiatric disorders. He has also used neuroimaging to study the neurobiological basis of mental disorders such as Williams Syndrome, and the effects of living in urban areas on mental health and the human brain.
Cecilia Margareta Lindgren is a Swedish geneticist. She is a Professor of Genomic Endocrinology & Metabolism in the Nuffield Department of Population Health at the University of Oxford, where she is also Group Head at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics and a research fellow at St. Anne's College. She became Director of the Big Data Institute at Oxford on 1 April 2021; she had previously been a Senior Group Leader at the Institute. Lindgren is best known for her research on the genetics of obesity and other complex traits.
Suzanne L Dickson is a neurobiologist and Professor of Neuroendocrinology in the Department of Physiology within the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a B.Sc. (honours) in Pharmacology. Her doctorate research was undertaken at the Babraham Institute with Professor Gareth Leng and she graduated with a Ph.D. in Neuroendocrinology from the University of Cambridge in 1993. She is also an Honorary Professor in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.

Ingrid Eftedal is a Norwegian molecular biologist and barophysiologist who is employed at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). At NTNU, she has been a senior researcher and head of the barophysiology research group. She has also been a dean and associate professor at the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences at Nord University. Eftedal holds a PhD in molecular genetics.
