Ilse Gradwohl

Ilse Gradwohl (born 1943 in Gleisdorf, Austria) is a Mexican painter. [1] She was born in Austria, but moved to Mexico in 1973, where she studied art at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 1996 she had a solo exhibition at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City entitled Mnesis. [2]

Gerald Gradwohl is an Austrian guitarist who made guest appearances with Tangerine Dream at various points from 1995 to 2007. He attended the J.M. Hauer Music School in Vienna studying classical guitar and jazz guitar and received a diploma in 1989 after only two and a half years. Gradwohl has released two solo CDs in Europe entitled ABQ and Tritone Barrier. He has also been a bandleader for European bands Threeo, Cats & Camel and The Powergrade as well as Harald Winkum.

Eva-Maria Gradwohl Austrian long-distance runner

Eva-Maria Gradwohl is a retired Austrian long-distance and marathon runner. She is also four-time Austrian national champion in half-marathon, three-time in marathon, and two-time in 10-km road run. In 2010 Gradwohl retired from her sporting career, after refusing to take a doping test; according to NADA director Andreas Schwab, refusing to undergo a doping test was considered a positive test, and would be an obvious breach of the rules imposed in every sporting competition.

The Common Linnets Dutch band

The Common Linnets are a Dutch band that was formed in 2013. The band originally consisted of friends Ilse DeLange and Waylon. DeLange has stated that the group is a platform for Dutch artists to make country, Americana, and bluegrass music, and that the members will be changing. In May 2014, Waylon left the group and was replaced by American country singer Jake Etheridge.

Bernhard Beibl is a musician from Vienna, Austria. He attended the Joseph Haydn Conservatory where he studied jazz guitar with Gerald Gradwohl. He was a member of Tangerine Dream from 2006 to 2014.

Ilse Salas Mexican actress (born 1981)

Ilse Salas is a Mexican actress. She appeared in more than fifteen films since 2010. For her lead role in the films Güeros and The Good Girls Salas received two nominations for the Ariel Award for Best Actress and won for the latter one.

Ilse Albert is an Austrian former swimmer. She competed in the women's 200 metre breaststroke at the 1952 Summer Olympics, where she was eliminated in the preliminary heats. She was one of three swimmers representing Austria at the 1952 Summer Olympics, and the only woman.


Ilse Getz was a German-born American painter and collagist active in New York and Newtown, Connecticut, from the 1950s through the 1980s. She specialized on three-dimensional works, made mostly with found objects. She exhibited at several galleries in New York City including the Bertha Schaefer Gallery and Rosenberg Gallery, as well as in Europe, namely in Switzerland, Germany, France and United Kingdom.

Ilse Totzke German musician

Ilse Sonja Totzke (1913–1987) was a German musician who had studied in Würzburg where she made a number of Jewish friends. After the Nuremberg Laws were enacted in 1935, she was reported to the Gestapo for associating with Jews but it was not until 1941 that she was warned not to continue these relationships. In late 1942, she nevertheless began a friendship with Ruth Basinski, a Jew, with whom she attempted to flee to Switzerland the following February. They reached the border but the Swiss guards handed them over to the Germans. Basinski was sent to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp while Totzke was returned to Würtzburg. After insisting on maintaining relationships with her Jewish friends, she was sent to the Ravensbrück Concentration Camp in May 1943. A gifted flautist, Basinski became a member of the Auschwitz orchestra. Totzke survived until she was liberated in April 1945. Totzke was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations in March 1995.
