History of Imperial Multimedia

The company was founded in 1999 by Fred Lochner, in Baraboo, Wisconsin

In 2005, Imperial Multimedia took on a kiosk project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The [1] New Bohemia Solar Project is a collaboration between Iowa DNR, I-Renew, [2] Alliant Energy, Thorland Company, and the City of Cedar Rapids, with funding provided by the United States Department of Energy. The purpose of this project was not only to provide 7200 watts of solar energy for Cedar Rapids' existing grid, but also to raise awareness and educate the public about the existence and benefits of solar energy.

In 2006 [3] Imperial Multimedia created an idea of getting people more information about a place they are visiting with the use of technology. In 2007, this idea came to fruition as Imperial Multimedia became the first company to install a state-wide system of electronic [4] Information Stations in state parks. The interactive kiosks were installed in 31 of Virginia's State Parks. These [5] Information Stations include a variety of information such as video tours of trails, printable maps, emergency information, park information and interpretive information.

In 2009, Imperial Multimedia developed a kiosk in northern Wisconsin in part of the Chequamegon National Forest that educated people about the local elk population. [6] The electronic information kiosk was created to fit into an existing sign board. The electronic kiosk has in-depth information about elk and the surrounding wildlife.

In the beginning of 2010, Imperial Multimedia became a founding partner for the [7] America's State Parks Alliance. The Alliance expresses advocacy for getting out in nature and making sure that state park visitor's voices are heard.

Solar power in New Jersey use of solar power in the U.S. state of New Jersey

Solar power in New Jersey has grown significantly, increasing from less than 50 megawatts (MW) in 2007 to over 2,800 MW in 2018, such that solar power provided 4.17% of the state's electricity consumption. This is aided by a Renewable Portfolio Standard which requires that 22.5% of New Jersey's electricity come from renewable resources by 2021, and by one of the most favorable net metering standards in the country, along with Arizona, allowing unlimited customers of any size array to use net metering, although generation may not exceed annual demand. Best practices recommend limiting net metering only to the size of the customer’s service entrance capacity. As of 2018, New Jersey has the sixth-largest installed solar capacity of all U.S. states and the largest installed solar capacity of the Northeastern States.

Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway

The Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway (BCR&N) was a railroad that operated in the United States from 1876 to 1903. Solar power in Iowa is limited but growing, with 96 MW installed by the end of 2018 with 21 MW installed within the last year, ranking the state 39th among U.S. states. Iowa's position as a major wind power provider may have limited early solar investment. Over 12,000 Iowa homes are powered by solar energy, accounting for 0.17% of the state's total electricity production in 2019. Solar on rooftops can provide 20% of all electricity used in Iowa. On June 7, 2012, Sky Factory in Fairfield became the first company in the state to generate all of their electricity from solar power, with the installation of a 54 kW 3500 sq. ft. solar array. Prior to that one of the largest arrays was the 15.75 kW array on the Marshalltown Public Library. Currently, a 5 megawatt (MW) array near Dubuque is the largest in the state since its construction by Alliant Energy in September, 2017. Over the next 5 years 411 MW in additional capacity is projected, bringing the state to a possible 33rd place rank in the nation.

Solar power in Wisconsin

Solar power in Wisconsin on rooftops is estimated to be able to provide 40.1% of the electricity used in Wisconsin, using 23,600 MW of solar panels. Net metering is available for systems up to at least 20 kW, and excess generation is credited at retail rate to customers next bill. Some utilities allow net metering up to 100 kW. For Xcel customers, kilowatt credits are rolled over monthly and are reconciled annually at avoided cost. Best practices recommend no limits, either individually or aggregate, and perpetual roll over of kilowatt credits.

Energy in Hawaii

Energy in Hawaii is complicated by the state's isolated location and lack of fossil fuel resources. The state relies heavily on imports of petroleum and coal for power although renewable energy is increasing. Hawaii has the highest share of petroleum use in the United States, with about 62% of electricity coming from oil in 2017. As of 2016, 26.6% of electricity was from renewable sources, including solar, wind, hydro and geothermal.
