Indian Ruminations is an online portal in English, publishing literature and journalistic writings. Indian Ruminations was founded by Sandhya SN and launched by well-known historian Prof. K. N. Panikkar [1] on May 16, 2010. [2]

Indian Ruminations Literature Festival

Indian Ruminations organized two International Literature Festivals in the years 2011 and 2016. Both the events were held in Thiruvananthapuram and showcased writers from across the world. The first edition of the festival held during 24–25 September 201was inaugurated by the Indian English writer, Anita Nair. [3] A national anthology of poetry, consisting of 40 poems from poets across the country, was released on the occasion. The second edition of the Indian Ruminations literature festival held during 27–28 December 2014, was inaugurated by the Malayalam poet and linguistic scholar, Prof. Puthussery Ramachandran. The festival was organized in collaboration with India-Inter-Continental Cultural Association. Apart from Indian writers and literature enthusiasts, the festival was attended by delegates from countries like Bangladesh, Croatia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America and Uzbekistan. Samaagati International Interdisciplinary conference 2017

Indian Ruminations collaborated with Samaagati Trust to conduct the Samaagati International Interdisciplinary conference of 2017. The focal theme of the conference held during May 12–14, 2017 was 'Nationalism:Discourse and Contestation'. This event was the first collaboration between Indian Ruminations and Samaagati prior to the takeover of Indian Ruminations by the Trust. The event held at Thiruvananthapuram was inaugurated by the author and literary critic B. Rajeevan [7] and the keynote address was delivered by Rana Ayyub, former journalist at Tehelka and the author of Gujarat Files. Research Scholars and Professors from across the nation presented their research papers in the conference. In 2020, Indian Ruminations was taken over by Samaagati Trust, a non-profit organization promoting social progress through cultural and academic activities. The trust functions with a motive to promote the cultural, social, educational and economic welfare of the society. The trust undertakes activities such as conducting research, organizing capacity building programmes, promoting academic discussions and book publishing. [4]

Charu Nivedita is a Tamil writer based in Chennai, India. His novel Zero Degree was longlisted for the 2013 edition of Jan Michalski Prize for Literature. Zero Degree was inducted into the prestigious '50 Writers, 50 Books - The Best of Indian Fiction', published by HarperCollins. Nivedita uses postmodern themes in his writing. He was selected as one among 'Top Ten Indians of the Decade 2001 - 2010' by The Economic Times. He is inspired by Marquis de Sade and Andal. His columns appear in magazines such as Art Review Asia, The Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle. The latest addition to his literary endeavor, 'Conversations With Aurangzeb,' released in October 2023, is a part satire and part historical fiction exploring the enigmatic persona of the controversial Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

She conceptualized and hosted the Doordarshan show Kitaabnama: Books and Beyond and is a founder and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival. She won the 2021 Sahitya Akademi Award for her novel 'Things to leave behind'.

S. Guptan Nair was an Indian scholar, academic, critic and writer of Malayalam literature. Known for his literary works as well as for his oratorical skills, Nair was a prolific writer with over 35 books to his credit. He was a distinguished fellow of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and a recipient of several honours including Kendra Sahitya Academy Award, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, Vayalar Award, Vallathol Award and Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, the last one being the highest literary award of the Government of Kerala.

N. Chandrasekharan Nair is a noted Hindi scholar. He founded Kerala Hindi Sahitya Academy and was former Head of the Department of Hindi at Mahatma Gandhi College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He received the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s award for Hindi writers in non-Hindi speaking areas for 2004-05 and the 2008 Maharashtra Hindi Sahitya Academy award. He has campaigned to have Hindi declared India's official language.

Kerala Literature Festival (KLF), founded in 2016, is an annual literary festival held on the beaches of Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The Festival on the beach is a non-aligned platform, committed to providing an open and liberal forums for debates and discussion to foster progressive discourses. The sixth edition of KLF is scheduled for 2023 January 12–15. Kerala Literature Festival is organized by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation, a philanthropic organization founded in 2001 as a tribute to late D.C. Kizhakemuri a freedom fighter, social activist, writer - publisher considered as the doyen of Indian publishing, and known as the father of paperback revolution in India, who took books to the masses. He was instrumental in the abolishment of sales tax on books. Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) is endorsed and supported by the Government of Kerala, Kerala Tourism and Culture Department. Renowned poet – critic Prof. K. Satchidanandan is the Festival Director along with Publisher Ravi Deecee of DC Books is the Chief Facilitator. The editorial team of DC Books works closely with KLF on the content.
