InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace is a five-star luxury hotel located in Rome, Italy. [1]
The building first opened in 1905 and later opened as a hotel in 1993. It was designed by architect Carlo Busiri Vici. [2] Before becoming a hotel, it was a library for the United States Embassy, which is located a few blocks away. It initially hosted various diplomats on behalf of the embassy who were staying in Rome. Later it became the library for the embassy before eventually becoming a hotel in 1993. [3] In 2023, the hotel was rebranded as InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace after being acquired by IHG Hotels & Resorts. The hotel underwent an extensive renovation prior to its 2023 reopening. [4] [5]
The hotel is centrally located on Via Veneto, one of the most famous streets in Rome. The street was prominently featured in the 1960 Federico Fellini film La Dolce Vita . [6] Following an extensive renovation in 2023, the hotel features 160 rooms and suites. The hotel also features a gym, a rooftop bar and several dining options, [7] including Scarpetta. [8] Ambasciatori Palace features meeting space that can accommodate up to 150 people. [9] The nearest subway station to the hotel is Barberini – Fontana di Trevi station which is served by Line A of the Rome Metro.
