Norsk TV1 was a Norwegian television station. Norsk TV1 started in 1989. It was focused on Norwegian shows and films, and produced a lot of entertainment shows for its weekend programming. On week days, the station's programming consisted of selected re-runs from last weekend. As Norwegian state television (NRK) was particularly strong during week-ends, the station did not do very well. Its owners closed it down and sold remaining assets and rights to TVNorge in 1989 after failed negotiations to join forces with them.

Petter Wilhelm Blichfeldt Schjerven is a Norwegian television host, known from Typisk norsk which aired on NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. Schjerven has previously worked as the host and scriptwriter for the children's program Midt i smørøyet and as the producer of the radio program Holger Nielsens Metode on NRK P3, among others. After Typisk norsk he hosted the shows Eva og Adam and Tingenes tilstand on NRK and Typisk deg on TVNorge.

In 2018 the brothers released a series titled Stories From Norway, in which the Ylvis brothers collected headlining stories from Norway and presented them as short, musical documentaries.

"The Fox" peaked at the top of the Norwegian Singles Chart and was hugely successful in the United States, where it peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks, and was, before the U.S. release of "Am I Wrong" by Nico & Vinz, the highest-ranked song by a Norwegian artist on the chart since A-ha's number-one song "Take On Me" in 1985.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? is a short-form improvisational comedy show originating as a popular British radio programme, before moving to British television in 1988. Following the conclusion of the British run in 1999, ABC began airing an American version, which ran until 2007 and was later revived by The CW in 2013.

"I Will Never Be a Star" is a single by the Norwegian duo Ylvis, although it was the brothers' little brother, Bjarte Ylvisåker, who sang the song. It was uploaded onto YouTube on October 14, 2014, and had over 6.6 million views as of January 22, 2020. In the song Bjarte sings about living in the shadow of his two older brothers' success. The song was released as a part of Ylvis' TV show I kveld med YLVIS on TVNorge.
Kongen befaler is a Norwegian comedy programme based on the British show Taskmaster. It has been broadcast on TVNorge and discovery+ since 2019. The show features five fixed panelists per series who all complete tasks, judged by Atle Antonsen and assisted by Olli Wermskog.
