The International Committee of the Decorative Laminates Industryaisbl (ICDLI) is an association with its head office in Brussels.The ICDLI is the international representation of the European HPL manufacturers and their suppliers.

Contents

The ICDLI aims at creating a strong and successful European community of the manufacturers as well as at the continuation of the success story of high-pressure laminates.

The ICDLI is an associate member of the Council of European Producers of Materials for Construction (CEPMC). [1]

History

The International Committee of the Decorative Laminates Industry (ICDLI) was founded in 1961 by laminates associations from Belgium, France and Germany. Over the course of the following years associations from Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain also joined.

Since 1999 the ICDLI has been an association established under Belgian law and has had its official Head Office in Brussels.

In 2000 the status of the ICDLI was changed from that of an umbrella association to an association with individual member companies.

Polyvinyl butyral chemical compound

Polyvinyl butyral is a resin mostly used for applications that require strong binding, optical clarity, adhesion to many surfaces, toughness and flexibility. It is prepared from polyvinyl alcohol by reaction with butyraldehyde. The major application is laminated safety glass for automobile windshields. Trade names for PVB-films include KB PVB, Saflex, GlasNovations, Butacite, WINLITE, S-Lec, Trosifol and EVERLAM. PVB is also available as 3D printer filament that is stronger and more heat resistant than polylactic acid (PLA).

Aurubis AG is listed on the stock exchange and is the largest copper producer in Europe and the largest copper recycler worldwide. Its headquarters is in Hamburg, Germany. After the acquisition of the Belgian copper producer Cumerio by Norddeutsche Affinerie AG on 18 February 2008, the company re-branded itself as Aurubis as of 1 April 2009.

Decorative laminates are laminated products primarily used as furniture surface materials or wall paneling. It can be manufactured as either high- or low-pressure laminate, with the two processes not much different from each other except for the pressure applied in the pressing process.

In addition, VDMA sees itself as a platform that provides its member companies with various networks where they can discuss technological challenges, interdisciplinary issues and many other topics. The association was founded in 1892.

CAOBISCO organization

CAOBISCO is the Association of Chocolate, Biscuits and Confectionery (French: Association Communautaire des Industries de la Chocolaterie, Biscuiterie industries of Europe. Created in 1959 in Paris, the association has been based in Brussels since 1985.

The Navigation Data Standard (NDS) is a standardized format for automotive-grade navigation databases, jointly developed by automobile manufacturers and suppliers. NDS is an association registered in Germany. Members are automotive OEMs, map data providers, and navigation device/application providers.

The Steel Institute VDEh is a techno-economic organisation of the German steel industry headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. The institute was founded in 1860 as "Technical association for steelmaking". Between 1880 and 2002, the association was called "Association of German steel manufacturers" or VDEh for short. In 2003, the name was changed to its present form "Steel institute VDEh", while retaining the old abbreviation VDEh as part of the name.
