The International Johannes Brahms Competition ("Brahms Competition") is an international competition for the performers of piano, violin, viola, cello, chamber music, and singers.
The competition has taken place annually since 1993. The event is held in Pörtschach am Wörthersee, Austria, where Johannes Brahms occasionally stayed during the summer. [1] [2] [3]
In each category, competitors are obliged to perform works composed by Brahms, either in the preliminary or final round.

Pörtschach am Wörthersee is a municipality in the district of Klagenfurt-Land in Carinthia, Austria. It is an established summer resort and lakeside town on Wörthersee.
The Leeds International Piano Competition, informally known as The Leeds and formerly the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition, takes place every three years in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1961 by Marion, Countess of Harewood, Dame Fanny Waterman, and Roslyn Lyons, with the first competition being held in 1963. Waterman was the chair and artistic director up to the 2015 competition when Paul Lewis and Adam Gatehouse became Co-Artistic Directors. The first round of the competition takes place internationally and in 2021 went 'virtual' when 63 pianists were recorded in 17 international locations and the Jury deliberated online, in order to circumvent the various impacts of Covid. The 2nd round, semi-finals and finals take place in the Great Hall of the University of Leeds and in Leeds Town Hall and in 2018 & 2021 were streamed to a large global audience through medici.tv, achieving over 4.7 million views and listens through multiple channels and platforms, including the BBC, Amadeus.tv (China), Classic FM and Mezzo.tv.
Detlef Kraus was a German pianist. He was an internationally known interpreter of the music of Johannes Brahms.
Božena Angelova is a Slovenian violinist. She has recorded for the Slovenian Broadcasting Company and has performed as a soloist with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Carinthian symphony orchestra, amongst others.

The Brahms-Preis has been awarded by the Brahms Society of Schleswig-Holstein since 1988. The prize is furnished with 10,000 euros. It rewards artists who have contributed mesmerizing work for the preservation of the artistic heritage of Johannes Brahms.
Anna Tsybuleva is a Russian classical pianist. She won the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2015. As of 2022, she has released two recordings, including a performance of the Brahms Piano Concerto no. 2 with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
Oleg Vyacheslavovich Bezuglov – is a Russian violinist, chamber musician and teacher, co-founder of the violin and piano duo Class&Jazz. The Honored Worker of the Russian Musical Society since 2010.

A member of the Berlin State Opera from 1998 to 2011, he first sang Mozart roles such as Papageno and Figaro, and created roles in premieres such as Mephistopheles in Dusapin's Faustus, the Last Night in 2006.
Hande Özyürek is a Turkish violinist. She has been a member of the Munich Radio Orchestra since 2003 and has released a solo CD. She also teaches at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Özyürek was named the winner of the 15th Vienna Music Competition in 2007.

Stanislav Khegai is a Kazakhstani pianist. He is the winner of the 2014 European Piano Contest Bremen and the prizewinner of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in Brussels and the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich. He was awarded with second prize at the III International Scriabin Piano Competition in Moscow and Grand-Prix at the International Piano Competition of Central Asia.

The Bremer Philharmoniker is the official orchestra of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. In addition to the music theatre in the Theater Bremen they organise 28 Philharmonic concerts per season, various special, benefit and chamber concerts as well as many projects in the field of music education. Christian Kötter-Lixfeld is the artistic director of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra, and Marko Letonja has been its Generalmusikdirektor since the 2018/2019 season.
