International Security Defense College

Last updated

The International Security Defense College (ISDC) is a private security training institution based in Beijing, China. It claims to be the largest private security training school in China and offers courses for military personnel, law enforcement officers, and private individuals. ISDC provides instruction in areas such as counterterrorism, handling detainees, hostage situations, and high‑risk security operations. [1] [2]

History

The school was founded in 2011. In 2017, Frontier Services Group, a Hong Kong–listed security, logistics, and insurance company co-founded by Erik Prince, acquired a 25 percent stake in ISDC. [1] As part of FSG’s corporate structure, Chinese partners including CITIC Group, a state-owned enterprise, hold significant stakes in FSG. [2]

The curriculum at ISDC is designed to address security challenges faced in Belt and Road Initiative regions. Prince has stated that the training is intended to support Chinese enterprises operating abroad rather than China’s domestic police or military forces. [2] At the time of acquisition, the press release mentioned plans for courses ranging from Counter Carjacking and Cultural Awareness to Medical Training for Non-medical Personnel. [3]
