Iodine is a 2009 Canadian Sci-Fi drama film written and directed by Michael Stasko. [1] [2]
John Clem (Michael Stasko) heads north to investigate the disappearance of his estranged father. Upon arriving at the family cottage, John runs into Avery (Ray Wise), his father's colleague. John receives no help on his dad's disappearance, but instead, a new set of eyes in which to view the living world around him. Avery assures John that they had been working on a special project which involved using iodine as a water purification tool, to preserve their natural surroundings. Environmental concerns and future implications of modernized society become a share interest and source of impassioned philosophical discussion for the two and they bond. However, John being a man of immense insecurity and uncertainty is forced to endure isolating surroundings while on the search for his father. The pressure from the rest of the family causes John an emotional breakdown as he is unsure of whether he can trust Avery.
The crew consisted of ten film students and done on a low budget. The project was filmed in Northern Ontario's Parry Sound on super 16mm film, over the course of 15 days. Produced by The Dot Film Company Inc., it runs for 97 minutes and was recognized in the Montreal World Film Festival in 2009.
Michael Stasko (Things To Do, 2006) wrote, produced, directed and acted in this film. This was Jason Collett's acting debut serving as comic relief Deputy Peel. George Andrew Romero was an American-Canadian filmmaker, writer, editor and actor. His Night of the Living Dead series of films about an imagined zombie apocalypse began with the 1968 film of the same name and is often considered a major contributor to the image of the zombie in modern culture. Other films in the series include Dawn of the Dead (1978) and Day of the Dead (1985). Aside from this series, his works include The Crazies (1973), Martin (1977), Knightriders (1981), Creepshow (1982), Monkey Shines (1988), The Dark Half (1993), and Bruiser (2000). He also created and executive-produced the television series Tales from the Darkside from 1983 to 1988.
Broken Social Scene is a Canadian indie rock band, a musical collective including as few as six and as many as nineteen members, formed by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning in 1999. Alongside Drew and Canning, the other core members of the band are Justin Peroff (drums), Andrew Whiteman (guitar) and Charles Spearin (guitar).

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning is a 1985 American slasher film directed by Danny Steinmann and starring Melanie Kinnaman, John Shepherd, and Shavar Ross. The film also features a cameo appearance from Corey Feldman, who portrayed Tommy Jarvis in the previous film. It is a sequel to Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) and the fifth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. Set years after the events of the previous film, the story follows a teenage Tommy Jarvis (Shepherd), who is institutionalized at a halfway house near Crystal Lake because of nightmares of mass murderer Jason Voorhees, whom he killed as a child. Tommy must face his fears when a new hockey mask-wearing murderer initiates another violent killing spree in the area.
