The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) is a public university in Monroe, Louisiana. It is part of the University of Louisiana System.
Monroe University is a private for-profit college in New York City. Ruston High School is a four-year public high school located in the Lincoln Parish School District of Ruston, Louisiana, United States. Jennings Bryan "Ears" Whitworth was an American football player and coach of football and baseball. He served as the head football coach at Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College—now known as Oklahoma State University–Stillwater—from 1950 to 1954 and the University of Alabama from 1955 to 1957, compiling a career college football coaching record of 26–51–4. Whitworth also coached baseball at Alabama from 1933 to 1934 and the University of Georgia in 1943, tallying a career college baseball coaching mark of 22–21.
James Lee Malone was an American college football coach. He was the first head football coach at Northeast Louisiana State College—now known as the University of Louisiana at Monroe—serving for 18 seasons, from 1934 to 1953. He later worked for a life insurance company at Baton Rouge upon resigning from his post at Northeast Louisiana. Malone Stadium at Monroe was named after him.

The 1960 Lenoir Rhyne Bears football team was an American football team represented Lenoir Rhyne College as a member of the North State Conference (NSC) during the 1960 NAIA football season. In their 15th season under head coach Clarence Stasavich, the team compiled an 11–0–1 record and won the NSC championship. The Bears were ranked No. 2 in the final Associated Press small college poll and No. 3 in the final UPI small college coaches poll. The small college polls included both NCAA and NAIA programs. Both polls were issued before the team's post-season victories.
