Senator Ishaku Abbo (born in Mubi North,Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician. [1] He is the senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in Adamawa State at the Nigerian 9th National Assembly. [2] [3] He is currently a member of All Progressive Congress APC. [4]
On 23 February 2019,Abbo was elected as the Senator representing Adamawa North,having polled 79,337 votes as against the incumbent senator,Binta Masi Garba.
In May 2019,Abbo assaulted a lady at an adult toy shop in Abuja. According to reports Abbo was allegedly called "a dunk" by the shop owner when he walked in with three ladies to purchase some toys. Video footage obtained by Premium Times shows Abbo repeatedly slapping the shop owner while his security guard makes attempt to arrest the shop owner. Senator Abbo after assaulting the shop owner claimed he was "agitated by the sudden illness of one of his girls" and accused the shop owner of poisoning the air-conditioning system. [5]
In September 2020,The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court,Maitama,dismissed the suit for lack of diligent prosecution by the police. This is despite a viral video showing Mr Abbo assaulting a woman,Osimibibra Warmate. In September 2020,the case was taken to a magistrate court in Zuba,Abuja where the law suit was re-analyzed with video footage evidence of the incident. Senator Abbo was found guilty and was ordered to pay N50million to Osimibibra Warmate,the shop-owner. [6] [7]

The 2019 Taraba State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9,2019. Incumbent People's Democratic Party Governor Darius Ishaku won re-election for a second term in 12 local government areas,defeating former acting governor and All Progressives Congress's Sani Danladi who won in the remaining four with a margin of 157,69[8] votes,and several minor party candidates.
The 2019 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held for state governors in 31 out of 36 Nigerian states. All but three were held on 2 March 2019 with the election for Rivers State being postponed until 4 April,while the Kogi State and Bayelsa State elections were both held on 16 November. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2015.
