Islamic Research Center Bangladesh, popularly known as Bashundhara Islamic Research Center, [1] is a higher Islamic research institution situated at Bashundhara, Dhaka. [2] [3] [4] Faqihul Millat Mufti Abdur Rahman was the principal founder of the institution. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir, is an Islamic student organization based in Bangladesh. It was established on 06 February 1977. The organisation is generally understood to be the student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and several of the leaders of the student organisation have gone on to become notable leaders within Jamaat. The organisation has a significant presence in higher educational institutions of the country such as University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, Rajshahi University, SUST, BUET, DUET, Medical College. Recently however, the student Organisation has been under pressure from the Bangladesh government led by the ruling party Awami League and its student wing, the Bangladesh Chhatra League.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh</span> Islamic terror organisation in Bangladesh

Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen is a terrorist organisation operating in Bangladesh. It is listed as a terror group by Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and the United Kingdom. It was founded in April 1998 in Palampur in Dhaka Division by Abdur Rahman and gained public prominence in 2001 when bombs and documents detailing the activities of the organisation were discovered in Parbatipur in Dinajpur district. The organisation was officially declared a terrorist organisation and banned by the government of Bangladesh in February 2005 after attacks on NGOs. But it struck back in mid-August when it detonated 500 small bombs at 300 locations throughout Bangladesh. The group re-organised and has committed several public murders in 2016 in northern Bangladesh as part of a wave of attacks on secularists.

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is a private liberal arts-based university in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in February 2002, permission to open was received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in November 2003, pursuant to the Private University Act, 1992.

Daffodil International University (Bengali: ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি) (DIU) is a private research university located in Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established on 24 January 2002 under the Private University Act of 1992.

The 21 August 2004 Dhaka grenade attack took place at an anti-terrorism rally organised by Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue on 21 August 2004. The attack left 24 dead and more than 500 injured. The attack was carried out at 5:22 pm after Sheikh Hasina, the leader of opposition had finished addressing a crowd of 20,000 people from the back of a truck. The attacks targeted Awami League president Sheikh Hasina. Hasina was injured in the attack.The involvement of BNP-Jamaat led government is still debated to this date.

Faḍl al-Ḥaqq ibn Wājid ad-Dīn al-Amīnī, or simply Fazlul Hoque Amini was an Islamic scholar and politician from Bangladesh. He served as an MP in the Parliament of Bangladesh from 2002 to 2007. He was an expert in the fields of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), hadith and tasawwuf. He also held a number of positions on the boards of qaumi madrasahs. He was also the principal of Jamia Qurania Arabia Lalbagh in Lalbagh, Dhaka, one of the largest Deobandi Islamic schools of Bangladesh.

Al-Jāmiʿah al-Ahliyyah Dār al-ʿUlūm Muʿīn al-Islām, popularly known as the Hāṭhazārī Madrasa or the Great Madrassah, is a Qawmi institution of Hathazari, located in Bangladesh's Chittagong District. Established in 1901, it is the largest and oldest Deobandi seminary in the country. According to a 2009 National Bureau of Asian Research report, the highly reputed institution ranks among top ten madrasa in the subcontinent.

Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Mālik ibn Shams al-Ḥaqq ibn ʿAbd ar-Raḥmān ibn Ummīd ʿAlī al-Kumillāʾī, or simply Muhammad Abdul Malek, is a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, author and researcher. His magnum opus, Al Madkhal ila Ulum al Hadith al Sharif, is used as a textbook in the Muslim world. Abdul Malek is the co-founder, current director and Professor of Hadith of Markaz ad-Dawah al-Islamia as well as the founder of Al Kawsar monthly magazine. He is also a member of the Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa Education Commission and Islamic Fiqh Academy, India.

Izharul Islam Chowdhury is the founder of Jamiatul Uloom Al-Islamia Lalkhan Bazar. He is the present executive president of Nizam-e-Islam Party and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.

Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, also known by his title Charmonai Pir, is a Bangladeshi Deobandi Islamic scholar, politician, religious speaker and social reformer who serving as the second leader of Islami Andolan Bangladesh. He is also President of the Bangladesh Mujahid Committee and Bangladesh Quran Education Board, and the Vice President of Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh.

Munshi Atiqur Rahman is a retired Bangladesh Police officer who served as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in the Criminal Investigation Department. He was charged and convicted for attempting to cover up the 2004 Dhaka grenade attack.

Mohammad Foyez Ullah is a Bangladeshi architect. He is the founder and principal architect of Volumezero Limited, and was the co-founder of Vistaara Architects. He started his career as an educator and taught as an assistant professor at the Department of Architecture, BUET from 1994 until 1998.

The 2021–22 Bangladesh Premier League, also known as TVS Bangladesh Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was the 14th season of the Bangladesh Premier League since its establishment in 2007. A total of 12 football clubs competed in the league. The country's top-flight football competition was started from 3 February 2022.

Siddiqur Rahman Miah is a retired Justice of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court and former President of Dhaka Stock Exchange. He is the chairman of the AB Bank's Shariah Supervisory Committee. He is a director of Dhaka Stock Exchange.
