Islamica is an Islamic company founded in Chicago, Illinois that sells apparel, accessories and media marketed towards Muslim youth. It was founded in 1999 by Mirza Baig, Azher Ahmed and Afeef Abdul-Majeed.

Islamica hosts an internet forum that has been active in the North American Muslim community. [1] [2] Islamica News offers Muslim-oriented parody news. [3]

According to independent sources, the company was one of the first brands aimed at young Muslims in North America, blending clothing, accessories, and media to help them integrate their faith into daily life in non-Muslim environments. The stuff was all about cool, modern styles with funny messages that let people show their identity in a way that resonated with the modern Muslim audience. [2]

In the early years, its community website, which was called Islamica, went beyond just shopping; it had forums where members chatted about Muslim life and culture. The Houston Press covered how founders like Baig saw it as a fun space for a generation that grew up with both Islamic roots and Western pop vibes, and it became an active online community in its early years. [2]

The Islamica Community forum, is still up and running online. However, public indicators suggest that current activity levels are limited. There are only a few registered members, and not much recent visible chatting or posts. This indicates that the forum may have had higher levels of activity in earlier years, but now shows substantially less participation. [4]

Islamica News, one of the company’s media projects, identifies itself as a satirical site. The website clearly states that all the content and characters are made-up and meant purely for comedic purposes. This puts it in the genre of parody or satirical news, rather than real reporting like a regular news outlet. That difference distinguishes Islamica News from traditional news organizations and identifies it as a humor-focused part of the company’s media activities. [5]
