Ismat Ahmed Chowdhury is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a former member of parliament for Habiganj-1. He was an organizer of the Bangladesh Liberation War.
Chowdhury fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War. [1] He was elected to parliament from Habiganj-1 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1986. [2]
Habiganj,formerly known as Habibganj,is a district in north-eastern Bangladesh,located in the Sylhet Division. It was established as a district in 1984 as a successor to its subdivision status since 1867. It is named after its headquarters,the town of Habiganj.
