Issakaba is a 2001 Nigerian film directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen. Loosely based on real events, it depicts a group of vigilantes called the Bakassi Boys fighting crime as well as the alleged sorcerer Eddy Nawgu, who terrorized the Nawgu community in Anambra State. [1] [2]
The Issakaba boys led by Ebube had to fight against armed robbers who terrorize their society. The armed robbers possess certain mystical powers that they use in their robbery activities. Because of this, Ebube and his team of Issakaba boys also acquire powers that enable them to fight against robbery. [3]
The Bakassi Boys are a group of Nigerian youth vigilantes in the south-eastern region of Nigeria. Activities of the vigilante group include targeting perpetrators of robberies, ritual killings, kidnapping, such as in the case of Eddy Nawgu, an alleged prophet and occultist whom they killed and beheaded.

Richard Mofe Damijo, who played the role of a disgruntled indigene, who became a militant, "Gunpowder" in the oil rich town described his role as a "modern day Robinhood". He also stated that he hopes government and international organizations will come to the aid of people in Niger Delta.
