Lieutenant General Ivan Bartholomew Leonard Jones, CB (born September 1966) is a retired senior British Army officer.
Jones was commissioned into the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on 7 September 1986 [3] and transferred to the Royal Engineers on 26 October 1988. [4] He was appointed commanding officer of 26 Engineer Regiment [5] and, in that role, saw active service in Afghanistan in 2007, for he received the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in 2008. [6]
Jones became Commander 8th Force Engineer Brigade in October 2011, Chief of Joint Force Operations from September 2013 and Chief of Staff, Field Army in November 2015. [7] That month, Jones was appointed as Colonel Commandant of the Royal Engineers, and held the position until 1 November 2020. [8]
Jones went on to be Director-General, Army Personnel in May 2018, [7] was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 2018 Birthday Honours, [9] and became Commander Field Army, with the substantive rank of lieutenant general, on 20 March 2019. [10] [11] He retired from the army in April 2021 and was succeeded by Lieutenant General Ralph Wooddisse as Commander Field Army. [12]
He was Honorary Colonel of the Engineer and Logistic Staff Corps Army Reserve until 1 July 2024, [13] and a Colonel Commandant of the Adjutant General's Corps until late 2024. [14]
Lieutenant General Sir Philip Neame, was a senior British Army officer and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces, and the winner of an Olympic Games gold medal; he is the only person to achieve both distinctions.

Major-General George "Gus" Brian Sinclair was a British Army officer. After the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst Sinclair joined the Royal Engineers in 1948. He served in Korea during the aftermath of the Korean War and was quickly appointed adjutant of his regiment. Sinclair served as adjutant of the British garrison on Kiritimati for the Operation Grapple thermonuclear weapon tests. From 1969 he was Commander Royal Engineers Near East Land Forces, based at the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia and was responsible for recovering buildings from a British training base abandoned in the aftermath of the 1969 Libyan coup d'état.

Brigadier Leslie Innes Jacques, was a British Army officer. After studying at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich he joined the Royal Engineers on the Western Front of the First World War. Jacques received the Military Cross for actions constructing a bridge during the Hundred Days Offensive in 1918. During the Second World War Jacques served with British Indian Army units in the Burma Campaign for which he was mentioned in dispatches and appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire. After the war he served with the British Army of the Rhine and was appointed a Commander of the Order of the Bath shortly before his retirement in 1953.
Major-General Zachary Raymond Stenning, is a senior British Army officer who served as the Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst from August 2022 to October 2024.
