Ivan Khomutov (born March 11, 1985) is a Russian former professional ice hockey forward. He was selected by New Jersey Devils in the 8th round (242nd overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Prior to returning to Russia to join HC CSKA Moscow of the KHL for the 2008–09 KHL season, Khomutov had played 201 games in the American Hockey League with the Albany River Rats and Lowell Devils.

He was the head coach for Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and Kazakhstan national team during 2010–2011 season. He played for CSKA Moscow from 1979–1990, then in Switzerland for HC Fribourg-Gottéron from 1990–1998. He was most valuable player in the Soviet league in 1990, and also led the league in goals in 1988.

Hockey Club Barys, also referred to as Barys Astana or HC Barys, is a professional ice hockey team based in Astana, Kazakhstan. It is one of the founding members of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). They play in the league's Chernyshev Division of the Eastern Conference. Their home arena is the Barys Arena, where they have played since the 2015–16 KHL season. Prior to 2015, the team played home games at the Kazakhstan Sports Palace for 14 seasons, beginning in 2001. The head coach is Andrei Skabelka and the president is Boris Ivanishchev. The team serves as a base club for the Kazakhstan national ice hockey team.
Vladimir Alexanderovich Zharkov is a Russian professional ice hockey right winger. He is currently playing with Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He has formerly playing in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils. Zharkov was selected by the Devils in the 3rd round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The CIS national ice hockey team was an ephemeral national ice hockey team that represented the Commonwealth of Independent States. Essentially the former Soviet team under a different name, the CIS team existed in the few months between the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the formation of new ice hockey federations for the former Soviet states, now independent countries. Most notably, the team competed at the 1992 Winter Olympics as part of the Unified Team, winning the gold medal. However, the International Ice Hockey Federation would later attribute this gold medal to Russia as the successor state. The International Olympic Committee does not attribute that medal to Russia. After the Olympics, the CIS team ceased to exist and was replaced by the Russian team. In the 13 games the CIS played, they won 11 and lost 2.
