Ivan C. Thomas (born January 1, 1975) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Hampton Pirates men's basketball team.
Thomas got his first coaching job in 1997 as an assistant coach for Schaumburg High School where he helped lead them to a state title in 2000. In 2002, Thomas got his first head coaching job at Edison High School. In 2005, Thomas was hired by T.C. Williams High School to be the school head coach where he led them to a state title in 2008 and was named the Virginia Coach of the Year in 2008. Then in 2008, Thomas joined Kecoughtan High School as the school's head coach. [1] [2] [3] In 2015, Thomas got his first collegiate coaching job as the Associate Director of Player Development for the Providence Friars. [4] [5] In 2016, the Friars promoted Thomas to serve as an assistant coach. [6] For the 2023 season, Thomas was hired by the Georgetown Hoyas to be the team's associate head coach. [7] [8] On March 13, 2024, Thomas was hired by the Hampton Pirates to be the team's next head coach. [9] [10] [11]

John Robert Thompson Jr. was an American professional basketball player and college basketball coach for the Georgetown Hoyas men's team. He became the first African-American head coach to win a major collegiate championship in basketball when he led the Hoyas to the NCAA Division I national championship in 1984. Thompson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.
Ed Cooley is an American college basketball coach and currently the head coach of the Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball program. Cooley held the same position at Providence College from 2011 to 2023, and Fairfield University from 2006 to 2011. In 2022, he received national honors as the Naismith College Coach of the Year. Additionally, he received the inaugural 2010 Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year Award.

Mark Leslie Fox is a men's college basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the University of Kentucky. Fox was previously the head coach for the Nevada Wolf Pack from 2004–2009, the Georgia Bulldogs from 2009–2018, and the California Golden Bears from 2019–2023. He served the 2023–24 season as the Director of Student-Athlete Relations and NIL Partnerships for the Georgetown Hoyas.

The 2012–13 Big East Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2012 and ended with the 2013 Big East men's basketball tournament at Madison Square Garden March 12–16, 2013 in Manhattan, New York. The regular season began in November, with the conference schedule starting on December 31, 2012. 2012-13 marked the 34th year of the Big East, and the 2013 men's basketball Championship marked the 31st anniversary of the Big East at Madison Square Garden, the longest-running conference tournament at one venue in the country. The 2021–22 Providence Friars men's basketball team represented Providence College during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by 11th-year head coach Ed Cooley, and played their home games at Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island as a member of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 27–6, 14–3 in Big East play to win the school's first regular season championship. The Friars defeated Butler in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament before losing to Creighton in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 4 seed in the Midwest region. They defeated South Dakota State and Richmond to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. There they lost to No. 1 seed and eventual national champion Kansas.
The 2022–23 George Mason Patriots Men's basketball team represented George Mason University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The season was the 57th for the program, the second under head coach Kim English, and the tenth as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10). The Patriots played their home games at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia. They finished the season 20–13, 11–7 in A-10 play, to finish in fifth place. This was the first season since 2017 that the Patriots finished the season with at least 20 wins. They defeated Richmond in the second round of the A-10 tournament before losing to Saint Louis.
