Ivano De Matteo (born 22 January 1966) is an Italian director, screenwriter, and actor.

Life and career

Born in Rome, De Matteo formed as an actor in the drama laboratory "Il Mulino di Fiora", and later formed a stage company together with his romantic partner and longtime collaborator Valentina Ferlan. He made his film debut in Pasquale Pozzessere's Verso Sud . As an actor, he had his breakout in 2008, with the role of Er Puma in the TV-series Romanzo criminale – La serie . The same year, he won the Nastro d'Argento for best actor in a short film for his performance in Giorgio Caputo's Action. [1] [2]

After directing a documentary film, Prigioniero di una fede, which received a special mention at the Turin Film Festival, De Matteo made his feature film directorial debut in 2002 with the comedy-drama Final Stage. [1] [2]

Enzo Petito Italian actor

Enzo Petito was an Italian film and stage character actor. A theatre actor under Eduardo De Filippo in the 1950s in the Teatro San Ferdinando of Naples, with whom he was professionally closely associated, Petito also appeared in several of his films, often co-starring Eduardo or/and brother, Peppino De Filippo, brothers who are considered to be amongst the greatest Italian actors of the 20th century. Petito played minor roles in some memorable commedia all'Italiana movies directed by the likes of Dino Risi and Mario Monicelli in the late 1950s and early 1960s, often appearing alongside actors such as Nino Manfredi, Alberto Sordi, Peppino De Filippo, Anna Maria Ferrero, and Totò.

<i>Romanzo Criminale</i>

Romanzo criminale is an Italian-language film released in 2005, directed by Michele Placido, a criminal drama, it was highly acclaimed and won 15 awards. It is based on Giancarlo De Cataldo's 2002 novel, which is in turn inspired by the Banda della Magliana true story. The Magliana gang was one of the most powerful Italian criminal associations, dominating Rome's drug, gambling and other kinds of crime activities from the early 1970s to 1992. The gang's affiliates start their career kidnapping rich people, drug dealing from the 1970s they started working with the Italian secret service, fascists, terrorists, the Sicilian Mafia, Camorra and many more. Some gang members are still alive, as inmates of an Italian prison, or justice collaborators. The film is something of a showcase for a number of Italy's leading young film and television actors, notably Favino, who won a Donatello award for his performance as Lebanese. In 2008 a spin-off TV series commenced broadcasting.
