The naval Battle of Bantam took place on 27 December 1601 in Bantam Bay, Indonesia, when an exploration fleet of five Dutch ships under the command of Wolfert Harmensz and a Portuguese fleet under André Furtado de Mendonça, sent from Goa to restore Portuguese authority, met in the Indonesian archipelago. The battle resulted in Dutch victory and forced the Portuguese to retreat. Netherlands made three ships booty on a large Portuguese force majeure of eight galleons and miscellaneous smaller vessels.

Jacques l'Hermite, sometimes also known as Jacques le Clerq, was a Flemish merchant, explorer, and admiral known for his journey around the globe with the Nassau Fleet (1623–1626) and for his blockade and raid on Callao in 1624 during that same voyage in which he also died. He served the Dutch East India Company as chief merchant in Bantam and Ambon Island in the Dutch East Indies. The Chilean Hermite Islands near Cape Horn which his fleet charted in February 1624 are named after him.
De Wachter is a smock mill in Zuidlaren, Drenthe, which has been restored to working order. The mill was built in 1851 and is listed as a Rijksmonument, number 41064.

Terug tot Ina Damman is a novel by Dutch author Simon Vestdijk. First published in 1934, it is one of Vestdijk's most popular novels. It is the third installment in the Anton Wachter cycle, a series of eight novels whose protagonist is Anton Wachter, the author's alter ego. His entire existence as an artist, Vestdijk later wrote Theun de Vries, originates in his "Ina Damman experience".

The Expedition of the Family Fox is a 2021 Dutch family film directed by Bob Wilbers. The film was entirely shot in the Dutch amusement park De Efteling. The film premiered at the Molodist International Film Festival in Kyiv. The film was put on a shortlist of 22 films eligible for the Golden Calves, an award often called the Dutch equivalent of the Oscars.
