C. R. Iyyunni (15 October 1890 - 21 January 1961) was an Indian National Congress politician from Thrissur,Kerala. [1] [2] He was a member of Parliament for Travancore-Cochin from 1952 to 1957. [3] [4] [5]
Shri Iyyunni Chalakka was born on 15 October 1890. His father was Shri Rappayi. He was educated at C.M.S. High School,Trichur,Maharaja's College,Ernakulam,Madras Christian College and Government Law College,Thiruvananthapuram.
He served as an advocate in Thrissur along with Congress activities in the locality. He was also renowned for his role in the promotion of banking institutions such as Catholic Syrian Bank Limited,Malabar Bank,Cochin Reserve Bank,Indian Insurance and Banking Corporation. He held other offices such as Chairman of Trichur Municipality,President of Trichur Bar Association,President of Civil Liberties Union,Chairman of Managing Committee,Indo-Mercantile Bank,Minister of Revenue in Cochin State,Member of K.P.C.C.,Member of Cochin D.C.C. and Parliamentary Board and Public Relations committee Travancore-Cochin State. Iyyunni died on 21 January 1961.
Padayatt Kesavapillai Vasudevan Nair,popularly known as PKV,was an Indian politician and lawyer who served as the 7th Chief Minister of Kerala from 1978 to 1979. He was a Member of the Lok Sabha from 1957 to 1971 and again from 2004 until his death in 2005. He became Chief Minister on 20 October 1978,following A. K. Antony's resignation as Chief Minister. Kishore Lal is a former member of the parliament of India from Bharatiya Lok Dal. He won the 1977 Indian general election from the East Delhi. In 1977 he defeated Congress stalwart leader H. K. L. Bhagat by a margin of 133,107 votes. Kishore Lal gained 240,594 votes while Harkishan Lal Bhagat alias H.K.L. Bhagat could secure only 107,487 votes. Lal's success in 1977 was part of an infamous defeat of the Congress party in the 1977 election following The Emergency. In 1980,H.K.L Bhagat returned to his seat when he defeated Lal by a margin of 22%. Lal attempted to challenge Bhagat in 1984 and 1989,but was unsuccessful. He did not attempt to challenge the East Delhi seat in 1991.

He was a member of Travancore State Legislature from 1948 to 1951 and M.L.A. in Travancore-Cochin Legislative Assembly from 1952 to 1954. Cherian represented Ramapuram constituency as a Congress Parliamentary Party candidate in Travancore-Cochin Legislative Assembly. He represented Muvattupuzha constituency in third Lok Sabha (1962–67). He was the first chairman of the Pala Municipality.
K. A. Damodara Menon (1906-1980) was an Indian National Congress politician,minister,journalist,writer,freedom fighter and an activist in the movement for united Kerala.
