J'son (born Jason Tyrel Thomas; May 14, 1980) is an American R&B singer who was signed to Hollywood Records in the 1990s [1] with three charting hits on the US Billboard Hot 100. He also scored two top 5 singles in New Zealand.
J'son grew up in South Central Los Angeles singing on the street corner for tips after school. He started singing at the age of eight in an attempt to gain his mother’s attention, which is when his singing abilities were recognized. At the age of 13 J'son met Minetta D. Gammage who then introduced him to her business partner David Esterson, who helped get a record deal with Hollywood Records.
In 1995 J'son released his first single "Take A Look". The song peaked at #74 on the Billboard Hot 100, #26 on Billboard's Rhythmic Top 40 chart, #38 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music Club Play chart and #54 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. "Take A Look" was also a big hit in New Zealand in 1996, peaking at #2 and spending 10 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10. His second single "I'll Never Stop Loving You" peaked at #62 on the Billboard Hot 100, #38 on Billboard's Rhythmic Top 40 chart, and #57 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. It was also another major success for J'son in New Zealand, debuting at #8, and climbing to a peak of #4 in June 1996, giving J'son his second consecutive top five hit in the country. The song appeared on the "First Kid" movie soundtrack and it was covered by Britney Spears, appearing as the B-side to her single "(You Drive Me) Crazy". J'son's self-titled debut album was released on February 27, 1996 and peaked at #44 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. His song "Say That You're Ready" appeared on the Eddie movie soundtrack in 1996. A song titled "Down and Dirty was featured The 6th Man movie soundtrack in 1997.
In 1998, he released the single "I Should Cheat On You", the lead single from his sophomore album. The song peaked at #48 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, #72 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the chart for 13 weeks. Unfortunately due to the lackluster sells of the single, his second album was shelved. After leaving Hollywood records he joined the R&B boy band 3rd Storee (also known as Chapter 4) and released one album with them in 2002. Aside from music, J'son has done some acting, commercials, voice-overs and he appears in the movie “Honey” starring Jessica Alba.
After the group disbanded, J'Son reemerged in 2011 for brief moment appearing under a new stage name Jay Sonic in a new music video titled "Spazz Out", Directed by Nick Lovell and Cinematography by Matthew Griffith. [2] In 2012 he made an on-air radio broadcast participating in a R&B cipher on Generation Bizzle Radio on their GenerationBizzleTV YouTube Channel, the vocal acts featured actress and singer Porscha Coleman along with artists Kolby Cordell, Tonez P & Jay Sonic. UGK was an American hip hop duo from Port Arthur, Texas, formed in 1987, by Chad "Pimp C" Butler and Bernard "Bun B" Freeman. They released their first major-label album, Too Hard to Swallow, in 1992, followed by several other albums charting on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, including the self-titled Underground Kingz album, which contained their single "International Players Anthem " and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, in August 2007. The duo has also been featured on hit singles by several other artists, such as "Big Pimpin'" by Jay-Z and "Sippin' on Some Syrup" by Three 6 Mafia. Pimp C founded UGK Records in late 2005. On December 4, 2007, Pimp C died in his West Hollywood, California hotel room.
Bad Meets Evil is an American hip hop duo composed of Detroit-based rappers Royce da 5'9" (Bad) and Eminem (Evil). Bad Meets Evil was formed in 1998, thanks to the duo's mutual friend, Proof. The group's name comes from the song "Bad Meets Evil" on The Slim Shady LP in 1999, which featured Royce da 5'9". Their discography consists of one extended play (EP) and four singles. In 1999, the duo released a double non-album single, "Nuttin' to Do" and "Scary Movies"; the former peaked at 36 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, while the latter peaked at 63 on the UK Singles Chart and was featured on the soundtrack of the 2000 horror comedy parody film Scary Movie.
"One More Chance / Stay with Me (Remix)" is a song written and recorded by American rapper The Notorious B.I.G., featuring additional vocals sung by his wife Faith Evans, Keisha Spivey from Total and an uncredited appearance by Mary J. Blige. It was certified platinum by the RIAA on July 31, 1995 and sold 1.1 million copies.

The son of jazz musician Olu Dara, Nas dropped out of school during ninth grade and began his music career in 1991 with a guest performance on the song "Live at the Barbeque" by Main Source. In 1992, Nas featured on the MC Serch posse cut, “Back to the Grill”, alongside Chubb Rock and Red Hot Lover Tone, and later contributed the track, "Halftime" to the soundtrack to the film, Zebrahead. Soon Nas ignited enough hype and signed to Columbia Records, where he released his debut album Illmatic in 1994. While I Am reached double platinum status like its preceding album It Was Written and spawned two singles that reached the top ten spots of the Hot Rap Singles chart, "Hate Me Now" and "Nas Is Like", Nastradamus signaled a decrease in quality and critical reception and sold only half as many units. "I Believe in You and Me" is a song written by Sandy Linzer and David Wolfert in 1982. The song was first recorded and released by the R&B group The Four Tops, who released it as a single from their album One More Mountain (1982). 3rd Storee is an American R&B group that was active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their debut single, "If Ever", peaked at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart in June 1999. "Feel So Good" is the debut single by American hip-hop artist Mase. It was released in October 1997 through Arista Records and Puff Daddy's Bad Boy Records as the lead single from his debut album, Harlem World, and it appeared on the Money Talks soundtrack. The song was produced by D-Dot and Sean "Puffy" Combs and featured vocals by R&B singer Kelly Price on the chorus. The single was the most successful of the three singles released from the album, having peaked at number 5 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and number-one on the Hot Rap Singles chart. J. Cole first took up rapping in his teens, collaborating with the local Fayetteville hip hop duo Bomm Sheltuh. The Come Up, his debut mixtape, was released on May 4, 2007, to positive reception. Following the release of The Come Up, J. Cole was contacted by American rapper Jay Z and subsequently signed to his record label Roc Nation. Cole released his second mixtape The Warm Up on June 15, 2009. "Lights Please", the first single from The Warm Up, peaked at number nine on the United States Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart and became Cole's first entry on a national record chart. Silk Sonic is an American musical superduo composed of musicians Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. The duo released their debut single, "Leave the Door Open", in March 2021. They later released "Skate" in July 2021, followed by third single, "Smokin out the Window", and their debut album, An Evening with Silk Sonic, in November 2021. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, while the first three singles reached the top twenty on the Billboard Hot 100, with "Leave the Door Open" spending 18 weeks in the top ten and two non-consecutive weeks at the top spot. The song later won four Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
